Re: Surfing craigslist pays off. (GoKart)
Mini-update.
Still waiting on my sprocket and tires. Got the pedals back on and spent the past couple days getting the brakes working. Had to find new fittings and new line and had to tap and drill a new hole for a bleeder. Shifter linkage is going to be a bitch because the seat will interfere with just about any scenario but I'll figure something out.

I hadn't noticed before now, but it looks like its an offset chassis (meant for dirt track oval racing). This is obviously gonna make your build much more difficult as I have never seen a shifter dirt chassis. I'm not sure how much research you have done on kart chassis, but www.4cycle.com is a great site. You should look at other chassis pictures to get an idea of what you want to do. I used to race shifter karts for years so I would consider myself fairly knowledgeable on the topic, so if you have any questions, please ask.

Did some work on the car today. I got my sprocket. It's the closest thing I could find to what I needed. 428 chain, 22t and 30mm. Unfortunately I have a 1.25" axle. Spent about 2.5hr with a die grinder making it work and another 15 minutes breaking the chain. I think I still need to remove 1 link.
Sprocket on
New fatty tires
Motor mount is *probably* done. I may need to widen one of the holes to allow for alignment but i'm pretty sure it's within 3 degrees of perfect....I hope

Yeah, you need to tighten up that chain for sure. I hope you're motor mounts work out, it looks somewhat thin, but obviously time will tell. I see your shifter setup you have, and I recommend looking at some real shifter kart pictures to understand how its set up on a real shifter chassis. Also, you're gonna need to get a hand operated clutch rigged up as well. Good luck!

http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/mcy/698984241.html any good for a snowmobile motor and centrifugal(spr?) clutch?
