Suggestion on new ride

All my ---- is looking to be sold in a couple of day so I'm in the preparing what to buy with money I don't have yet mode. I'm looking outside of honda's. Here are my choices
-240z
-1g RX7
-510(it's worth a shot :P)
-3 series late 80's bmw
1-3k range for the car then 1g for schooling

then with the money I have left I'm taking some welding courses to get my foot in the metal fab./welding industry and try to get into a apprenticeship program with a local company.
Any suggestion on the my selection if you had owned or drove any of them. I'm gonna check out a 240z tomorrow thats right in town. I would be in love if that worked out. I love antique imports.

Turbo Diesel 12.9L ::) LOL

Get any of those other than the 240, they are the next -----d out import (only after honda's of course) I must say the rx7 or bmw would be much more original ;)

Re: Suggestion on new ride

If you mean 240Z as in Datsun those rule. They are def. the coolest old school import other than a Toyota 2000GT.I owned 3 first gen RX7's myself and I can say that they were the funnest cars I've ever owned. They are pretty cheap to do motors in as well and easy to work on.My civic would absolutely rape any of the RX7's I owned but it is still only half the fun to drive.

...14b? 14b is a turbo y0. First gens came with 12a's and second and third gens came with 13b I do believe...

Get a first gen, they're freakin cool as heck and you don't see many running around nowadays.

Re: Suggestion on new ride

the 240 was a "Z". Good grief not a s13. I'd stick with getting another civic if that was the case. I've always had a thing for the 1g RX7's but finding up here in WI without rusted out floorboards and a boatload of other places is the key. I was thinking of what to swap in the "z" and just would stick with the stock carb'd straight 6. Though for the 7 I would pull that wankel out so fast or just find one without it. Then toss a bigger 1100cc+ streetbike engine/tranny in it. The 12a is only 100hp/100tq and a considered a 1.1 ltr engine anyway. Hahaha a 14b, thats the uber rare hella jDm only made for one year in a Mazda Cosmo and was a 1 rotor wankel. lol. yeah The 14b is the 1g dsm snail. It's thought that counted Colten. ;)

Or a 93 ;)

I got a bunch of information about turbocharging the 4th-6th gen Celicas, if you're interested. That ranges from about 88-99.

i vote 240z or the 3 series.

Re: Suggestion on new ride

I think I'm gonna start buying parts for the z so I just need to find one with the money I have. I'm just gonna stick with the stock 2.4 or maybe swap in a later 2.8.

Oh Jesus christ Jeff. I'd have to buy two automobiles if I got a dsm. One dsm and a truck and towrope to pull it home when it breakdown all the time. :P Plus the only ladies I'd have to pick are my wife and daughter.

Re: Suggestion on new ride

Hopefully this will be mine in a week or two if everything goes right. Body isn't that bad but for what I'll have leftover I can get that done with $$ to spare on other stuff. It's not a 240z but a 75 280z with a rebuiltfuel injected engine, aftermarket cam, header, supertrapp muffler, new radiator, fuel pump, brakes,Optima battery, clarion cd deck, 5 spd. I feel in love with it the moment I saw it. I about fell over when he told me 1500 for it! :o I was expecting him to say 3-4k on it. He was a pretty cool guy, tech at a local auto repair shop and has another Z and want to get that going so one Z has to go he said. Thanks to everyone who's been buying my stuff to help me get my Z that I want. I should have like almost 3g's after I buy it to spend on it. Ohhh the possibilities... 8) I won't know how to act having a car with torque. Gotta love the visegrip for holding on the dist. HMT style O0 Only thing I ain't feeling is that damn hurst T shift knob but thats just cosmetic ---- but he started it up and it had a nice loopy idle from the cam and the muffler was louder then any of my cannisters I've ever owned! lol. It's tuneable so that can be messed around with.

Re: Suggestion on new ride

Only 1100 away from it. If Mr Limpmode picks up my engine I'll be set. Not including a guy who's buying my 4dr shell for 2500 and a gsr hydro tranny I'm selling also. I may even ask my mom to bum me some scrilla till everything goes and then just pay her back cause for 1500 I can't pass that ---- up. I've got some nice Buddy Club buckets to toss in it too so I can toss those ripped up vinyl seats in it away for the time being and throw my old recaro into the hatch. As Tom Petty once said, "the waiting is the hardest part." He doesn't have it listed up for sale but said he'd sell it. So check out the classifieds and help me out alil.

You sold a shell for $2500? :o Ask this kid if he wants another civic :P

Re: Suggestion on new ride

Rolling shell with full ITR susp, jdm rims, full Ferio interior, no rust whatsoever... I feel it's well worth the 2500. Try finding a EF or EG civic in WI with no rust is quite a challenge.
