Re: stripped head stud *pics added*
You're supposed to use a 12pt 12mm socket on a 10mm nut... ::)

Re: stripped head stud *pics added*
I don't see how in the hell you could strip that nut putting it on. are you sure the stud wasn't going through the top of the nut pushing the socket off the top. I bet thats what it is because ti would seem like its stripped. Use a deep well, you might have to force it on, if its just the top of the nut fucled up.

yeah uhh 13mm?

Re: stripped head stud *pics added*
I was thinking about that to, but none of the other nuts felt like that, its raining here now so i gotta wait till tomorrow or sunday....

Re: stripped head stud *pics added*
And about socket length, I counter sink the head studs to the point that there is very little sticking out of the tightened nut. I simply use a drill and drill out the block threads to make the stud sit further down into the block. This reduces deck distortion by making the deck thicker against the clamping forces.

Re: stripped head stud *pics added*
id find somthing that fits around it tighter and hammer that socket right on the nut... that or use some kind of bolt-out...

Re: stripped head stud *pics added*
In the worst case you could be able to sacrifice the stud and drill it out. They already have a hole in the middle to start from but the steel is pretty tough on the drills I bet.
