Re: Street racing vs track racing

i do organized street runs, it just seems more logic. aint gotta wait for track day 2 months from now, aint gotta go through tech inspection n fail cuz ur missing 1 lug or battery tie down... you wait til around 11pm, get the phone call saying "so and so's car is ready" then the ---- talkin sharts, "what's he got cuz i aint goin out there for some bullshit" they "kinda" tell u what he got but u always never know unless its only obvious. we figure out the spot to race otherwise known as the "track" even tho its some industrial road somewhere that is straight as ----... we meet up at a local burger joint, talk, set up who's running who, buy a soda or energy drink (cuz its gonna be a nice long night) n we set off for a track (straight road). we get there, scope it out a bit incase cops are around or what not, check all side streets, parking lots... everyone parks. line em up n go. get a good hour or 2 which is like 10 - 40 runs depending on who's worth racing... the reputation starts n you start gettin more calls in the future. process continues. people get tired of losing so they go out n try some nos or what not... either way they get smoked and go home mad every weekend. and blah blah blah... wether a guy jumps the gun or not or u dont "react" in time, if ur car is as fast as u wish, you'd catch up n pass him anyway. its hard to call a race on the street unfair. only thing that gets annoying is the excuse "i mis-shifted" or "i launched to high"...

funny thing is thats really how it goes around here. they have the regular overpopulated street races around, meet at a gas station n follow them around til they find a track but u already know a cops gonna be there before u start racing.... that ---- got annoying so we jus go by call n meet up now... i can video tape it if u want lol

When Racing on the street almost every track gets broken up and getting in your car and running from the cops gives you a rush especially the closer the cops get to you.

I love both. I like the track because you have the tree and reaction times willl pay off. It's also nice to have the slips, although i do have a datalogger in my car that does give all the information you can get at a track it's not as accurate.
I don't do organised street racing but I love racing people off traffic lights. Highway pulls are not my thing, because the car pulls 0.7 G's in first gear, and that is quite a bit of advantage.

thats basically how it goes down here, theres really only 3 spots to race at but the city is so poor that they cant really send cops over there all the time.

<movie announcer voice> Street racing is fun and exciting, but also can be deadly and dangerous <movie announcer voice>

I dont speed nearly as much as I used to and pretty much dont drive fast at all, but Im a sucker for a chance freeway race :)
