I leave a toll booth only to have a fox body 5.0 rev on me. No one around 1130 at night only two on the road. I pull 7 cars and make him feel st00pid. Behind him comes a 4.6 GT 500. No one around, 7-8 cars on him. Street race to me is from a dig at any place. Not from a roll with no one around. If I were to count I can name probably 6 incidents that I have "street raced". I don't do it often. If someone asks me to race or something I ALWAYS say no. Watch/Know to many bad things happen to be dumb enough to street race.

people that win at the street races gets no respect from me. Sure you could pull 42750847507238472034 cars in your single cam on some Diablo. But the Diablo may have waited and hour to catch up to you.

Basically, reaction time on the street is everything. On the track it's real. If you got a slow foot, at the end the numbers speak for everything.

Oh and highway pulls IS street racing. No matter what you say to make it look better for yourself you are a street racer... sounds cool huh :P

And if no one being around justifies it, you are just calling yourself worthless, cause YOU are around and a simple mistake will end YOU. But that's just my opinion. :)

I agree, never set up, never with a crowd around, i was with a buddy in his gsr hatch two weeks ago pulling out a a sunoco(94 on tap yo!) and as we pull out an rx8 with giant can on the back grabs a gear and goes flying by, we pull up and by teh top of third have thee lengths on him and still pulling hard, what im agreeing with is that this is all at 10:30 at night, four lanes, no traffic, wasnt pre planned, too much bad ---- happens where people street race near my house, they line up way deep with a crowd a foot from the cars, doesnt take much for someone to get hurt.....just dumb...

I love the track. I tend to stay away from street racing, or hihway pulls on people, but sometimes it happens. We don't have "Flashlight" Drags in my area, and everyone drives pickup anyways.

I enjoy going to the track and showing the hicks in my area that it doesn't need a v8 or tons of money to be fast. Just some skill, time, and creativity.

Re: Street racing vs track racing

I can't beleive you guys only get 5 runs in at your local tracks, around in my area if you don't get atleast 10 in its cause your car broke, One of the other things that makes me hate the street racing scene in my area is all the ricers driving like retards at the meet up spot before you ever even go to the races, hey lets get the cops on us before we even race. I do like doing runs from a roll though, cause then you can't use a bad launch as an excuse, one time I accidently tried to race a guy with quite a rep in mn his licensce plate is urv8sux, its an eg hatch with over 500whp,( I let off as soon as I heard the turbo on that thing, it looks stock on the outside) I saw a video of him spinning the tires in 4th gear at about 70mph against a cobra, He lost because of wheel spin against the cobra. I'm guessing or that the cobra is making really good power too, I'll try to get the link. The video does kinda suck in quality though.

i would say track for sure even though you do wait ------- forever between runs, but you have somthing to show for it though.
