Re: Stolen 4 door integra -- **Found in Everett**
Apparently, broken ignitions/steering columns are expensive to replace (mostly labor)... I asked the shop working on it and they said that alone costs around $2k. I was stunned when I heard that. I asked what they thought the total estimate will be (not including missing turbo stuff) and they said around 4-5k. SO, it looks like it's in real danger of being totalled by the insurance company. I'll find out in a day or so.
So, just in case someone on here that lurks is the one who jacked my car... here's a big ---- You going out to you.

If you don't owe anything on it your best bet might be for it to be totalled. If you get 4-5k out of the insurance company and buy it back for say $500 you still got 4k to fix it. You should have no trouble fixing that ---- for cheap. Are they covering your wheels? good luck

well, yes, I agree the getting money and buying it back cheap would be cool...
However, I am afraid of insurance rates (or if they'll even cover) with a salvage title vehicle. For you guys that bought your vehicles back, what happened with insurance after that?
BTW, the whole turbo/mods thing isn't totally out the window. My insurance company hasn't told me "no, we won't cover it"... they just said, well, tell the adjuster and he'll take it into account. So, I called the shop today where it's being looked at and the mechanic was telling the claims adjuster that there was obvious evidence that I had turboed it (oil pan tap, drills for intercooler, etc...). So, it's a long shot with that stuff, but I have records for all of it and that would be like an extra $2k +

I hope they cover it, but there's nothing in my policy that says they cover aftermarket parts. I wasn't paying any additional premium so why would they have to assume a higher payout in the event of a loss. I work at insurance agency and usually it just doesn't happen. USAA has been pretty great to work with so far, but if they cover I will be surprised.
I have multiple pictures, receipts, and bank statements for everything, but it comes down to my policy... if it's not in there, they don't have to do anything.
