steering wheel HELP!!

I am installing a MoMo steering wheel in my 2000 civic ex and i was wondering if there is a way to trick the car to think the airbag is still in because the aftermarket one doesnt have one, please let me know,i want the passenger side to still work, thanks

does the car not run if it thinks teh airbag has been delpoyed???? just slap teh steering wheel on and roll out :) unless of course it wont start or something without and airbag.. in that case youre fucked ?? ???

is the airbag plug a 2 wire deal? if it is, trim some insulation off the wires an inch or so back from the plug... plug in the factory steering wheel in and start the car. yes, this is dangerous. ;D use a voltage meter to measure the voltage between the two wires. Then, with that reading, maybe you could trick the airbag sensor or something :P

I just did my steering wheel last week, but I have a crx. I'm not sure how you would trick the thing, but definately be careful when doing anything with the airbag. ;)

Re:steering wheel HELP!!

Before installing the wheel remember to unplug battery for a while before unlugging the srs, just in case the bag is holding juice. What I did was put electrical tape over the srs light in the cluster to cover it up. It works ;D. I was never able to figure out how to keep the pass side airbag functional though.
