stupid question, you arent gonna have a problem with the ground are you, theres exposed ground wire, and SS lines.

Looks good Steve, is this your first project? I've been on here for over a year now and I don't remember seeing one of your setups before. You can hardly notice intercooler...nice work.

Re:StealthMode's Setup PIX (56K... Blow me)

Steve, I'm a bit dissipointed with the setup, first of all you come out with beautiful pics of your engine and turbo setup and then show us pics of a backyard/half ass orange silicone nightmare. I mean serisouly I have never seen so much silicone on a project hanging off everywhere. You need to get a new valve cover gasket and not use any silcone on it, clean up your rubber grommets, and -AN fittings do not require silicone last time I checked ???

If you ever do use silcone, I'd highly suggest investing in some Black or Grey silicone so it doesnt stick out like a sore thumb.

;D

LMAO Jeff..
Stevo is keeping it ghetto...
Ghetto 300hp screamer. Get a bigger turbo or you would have to boost a lot to reach 300 hp
I'm going to run a T3/T04E 57 trim....small turbine though really small :(.
I want to see what it's going to do...AR.36 turbin and a .50 TO4E 57 trim compressor...hmmmm on a stock ZC ready to be blown....see if I can run 12's ... it has to...the only reason it wouldn't would be that it blew up... Up the boost till I hit 12's...2bar map Turboedit tuning ;D

Re:StealthMode's Setup PIX (56K... Blow me)

http://www.newbieforces.com/files/turbopenis.JPG

This is what my life has looked like the past week or so. (without the smile) No shaving, no teeth brushing, no showers. :-\

The car has experienced some overheating problems due to:

1. SS water line rubbing on radiator, then....

2. Someone not putting a clamp on the coolant line going to the heater motor. ??? I seriously put a cigarette out in the puddle of coolant in my passenger floor board (I was in a high fire zone. :-\)

The RTV ---- is because I'm sponsored by them. 8) I had two broken valve cover bolts, and then bambooseven thought that I said "brake another" when what I really said is, "look dickhead, I already have two broken on one side, lets not make this any worse." So, as ugly as it is, it's not leaking. I'll try to put some black over it for you Jeff, but it does kinda feel good to be keeping it "so real". ;)
The drain line is from bamboo's install and had one of the old school an fittings in it. I had an extra one, so I was trying to use it, but then my car decided that it was too flashy and didn't want to sport it. (It wouldn't fit right) So once again I'm keeping it real, and it doesn't leak.
Yes, this is my first setup. With the install running late on Sunday, and the small problems I've been having, I've just been fixing small things on the car after work. (Yes, I have a regular job.) :-\ So I am getting to the things that need to be corrected, but I haven't got an "bling bling" hours to spare as of yet. That's why one side of my piping is painted, and the other side isn't. 8)
Flywheel covers are way over-rated. ;)

Thanks to those that showed up to the install:
Ghetto D
Bambi7
Renr
Julio Bustamonte
Donald125
Agent Murdoc

VIP award will be going to Ghetto D on this one. Not for the garage he supplied or the blingin' piping, but for the fact that every time I wanted to burn the car to the ground, he wouldn't let me. If it wasn't for him and the others that showed up to help out, I'd probably be having a huge fucken garage sale in classifieds right now. Sometimes thats how I feel, but they wouldn't let me do it. Thanks.

Also, thanks to all the hmt members. Without the ability to buy parts so cheap, from cheap bastards, for cheap bastards this would have cost alot more than it did. Also thanks to all the oil line/wheel customers that have allowed me to complete this without taking out any loans or anything like that. I really owe it to the whole site. Thanks. If any of you are in the area, feel free to come by and ask for the keys to my car. I owe it to you. Ghetto D and Bamboo gladly took me up on that offer 10 mins. after we started it up. :D
Bambi's on the way over right now so we can crank it up and do some check ups/tuning.

Hey Stealth What is your motor setup? How much boost do you plan on running? And if you can give me an estimate on what the machine shop charged you.Reason for all the questions is I am still deciding weather to build up the D or use the spare LS motor.I have a spare z6 and ls motor sitting in the garage,But i dont have a b series tranny. So Im just trying to see what the best option is.Cost wise.

Re:StealthMode's Setup PIX (56K... Blow me)

All of my machine work was $360 and took 7 months. I know the guys down there really well and was patient. I think it should have been about 6 something. The rods/pistons were $360 on a once in a lifetime deal. Throw a couple hundred more in and you have my total. Build the D at all times. ;)

Donald125 06-11-2004 01:10 AM

Re:StealthMode's Setup PIX (56K... Blow me)

360 for pistons AND ros!!???? :o

Honda16hb 06-11-2004 01:25 AM

Re:StealthMode's Setup PIX (56K... Blow me)

damn, my piston/rod combo is going to cost me 760 plus shipping. but my machine work was about $75 dollars (bore and hone and crank polish, with an automotive student discount which hooked me up phat). I'll have to take this sob for a spin when I'm in town.

my engine is going to be all red siliconed up because I like red and I hate leaks, plus the dyno isn't going to say "hey, that looks like ----, that's a 50hp deduction you ugly engine having piece of ----"

Looks good steve. Now stop making lame ass excuses(oh Im tired, yada, yada, yada :P) and turn the ------- boost up!

MikeJ-2009 06-11-2004 07:27 PM

Re:StealthMode's Setup PIX (56K... Blow me)

I have no clue where that cover is. ???
Raffi, we shortened the WG last night but didn't see much of a difference. ??? Maybe a pound for about 1/4" shorter?
We did try the dial a boost all the way open and I the gauge said 12.5, blew a coupler, put a new one on and put a new coupler. Still about 7 pounds.
yeah, yeah, I'm working on it. :P

d16forlife 06-11-2004 08:16 PM

Re:StealthMode's Setup PIX (56K... Blow me)

I had the same problem when I raised the boost the same way Steve.

What I did was I ran a line from the wastegate to the intake mani.It seems like it takes longer for the wastegate to see boost that way. Then it jumped up to 8psi.Try that.It should work.

MikeJ-2009 06-11-2004 09:16 PM

Re:StealthMode's Setup PIX (56K... Blow me)

I was gonna do that but I read that it gives off a "heat burst" kinda thing because of a boost spike from the wastegate being actuated much after the turbo.

I'm gonna check it out though. Maximum boost said if you can afford a short heat blast, than it will be fine, but then it ended with, "just attach the line to the compressor outlet and call it a day" ???

d16forlife 06-11-2004 09:32 PM

Re:StealthMode's Setup PIX (56K... Blow me)

Well Raf is telling you that it will work. Its been working for 4k miles now.

**looks around**..I dont see no "Heat burst" ???

Now put down that book and go rape that engine DAMMIT!

MikeJ-2009 06-11-2004 10:48 PM

Re:StealthMode's Setup PIX (56K... Blow me)

I'll try it Raffi.

I just caught my first race!!! A rice boy in like a 98 ex with a bodykit rolls up on side of me. I know what time it is, let him get like a 2 sec. jump, then I raped him. At the next light he says, "is that nitrous?" (cause you know I shifted right as I was passing his door 8)) and I told him, "no, that's turbo" hahahahaha. He said, "man, I was like fuckk".
I was surprised he even came up on side of me. Most people think my car is just a dirty old piece of ----. Races have been hard to come by. :-\ Bambo told me I needed to start "rev checking" people, but we all hate those kind of people. :P What fun is it to go challenge and then smoke em'? I want to be challenged by ricers and surprise em'. ;)

crxrx7 06-12-2004 12:07 AM

Re:StealthMode's Setup PIX (56K... Blow me)

Thats the best right there. I love the look on peoples faces when they find out its a turbo. The smile and look over like its the coolest thing they have ever seen.

Honda16hb 06-12-2004 01:01 AM

Re:StealthMode's Setup PIX (56K... Blow me)

when I had the d15 in I would rev at people at lights and laugh when I lost because it was a d15. now I have the b16 and I don't rev anymore because it's not funny when you spend a bunch of money on a motor swap and still lose.

Re:StealthMode's Setup PIX (56K... Blow me)

there i went ahead and fixed the first picture... cause you couldnt really read what i had written in that filth you call dirt...

And your welcome steve... Dont you ever give up on anything you start..... if you gut stuck... all you need is a kick in the right direction...dont worry about the mess you guys left... its still here waiting to be picked up... JK...

MikeJ-2009 06-12-2004 02:19 AM

Re:StealthMode's Setup PIX (56K... Blow me)

So I went to autozone and got enough vac line to run from the wastegate to the IM. The highest I hit on the afc was +.60 but me and bamboo noticed last night that my boost gauge reads more than that. Like when we had the dial a boost hooked up the gauge said 12.5 lbs. but the afc was only at 5.9 or something. What do I trust? It's hard to think the gauge could read more psi than whats really there. ??? I don't know what to believe, but I know that ---- is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssttt. I love it. ;D

tekno9998 06-12-2004 02:22 AM

Re:StealthMode's Setup PIX (56K... Blow me)

Whoa how much boost you planning to run on the d steve? Yeah id go with the boost gauge reading deffinetly,

MikeJ-2009 06-12-2004 02:35 AM

Re:StealthMode's Setup PIX (56K... Blow me)

Well, I'm still working on my turboedit setup, but the afc is running really good. At this point I'd take it to 11psi if it gave it to me. I really think tonight I was spiking 10 and leveling off at 9psi. That's good for me now. I'm having fun, but with time and patience I hope to run 12-14 on the street. That may be a little much for the tires, so basically we're gonna play with it and see what happens. I don't think I built this motor to push to the edge of destruction, but I did build it to push 12psi on the daily and not have to worry about it. The races are a different story, and that will be up in the air as far as how much I'll run there. With all of this ------- with the wastegate though, I think the next thing I get is an electronic boost controller. 8)
