Start DIY ITB

Hi all!
My civic `90 VT b16a1 need more little power. I decide make itb on my motor. Buy itb from Honda 600RR ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=013 )
I has stock b16a1 (little light flywheel & mugen chip)
This itb can do more power in 6000-9000 rpm?
Anybody has on EE9 ECU PW0 binaries for stock motor + ITB?
Thanks!

To be fair there is an ITB tech project. But you'll get much more useful answers on pgmfi.org just a suggestion though. Don't go asking stupid questions.

those ITB's are too small and you will most likely lose power.

not most likely will

you need atleast 929's

best choice is gsxr 750+

600 suck. not a bad price, but they are way to small for a b16.
you could probably pull more power with just a simple ECU tune.

the car will barely run if at all without imediate tuning after installation of the itb's. You will foul plugs like crazy to if you try to drive on them untuned.

Thats not true. It will run very rich but driveable. Partial throttle will suffer the most

Hmm..cbr600 has 4*38mm is like one 76mm. On honda acord type R stand 64mm trottle body and give 220hp.
Why i lose power?

2junkyard racer: i have a tuned ecu. i have mugen bin on BRE.I have a lighty ;D light flywheel made on stock.
But need more power. Needed ~180-190hp.

one 3" pipe will flow more air than two 2.5"

each throttle plate on the 38mm's take up 4534.16 millimeters

the 64mm throttle body's area is 3215.36 square millimeters

oh yeah? you have a tottal area of 7 square inches on the 3 inch pipe and 9.81 on the 2x2.5 inch pipes. I dont see how the 3 inch pipe could flow more, unless you're just being sarcastic.

I love your math

Now it doesnt work that ya

Under your thought process you could run 4 15mm tb's which wouldnt turn a hamster wheel which would equal a 60mm tb

classic

take a micrometer to your head ports on the b16a and tell me the port size and try again

bre is a a real editor that works and if its the real mugen bin it runs basic b16s pretty solid.

Re: Start DIY ITB

the real mugen tune is pretty weak honestly Chris. Unless your going to be 6k rpms on -> for long durations (N1)
There are many better options IMO.

Learn something about fluid flow dynamics, there's more to flow than just total internal area. One big pipe can outflow 2 medium sized pipes becuase of the difference in surface tension

Truth

If you guys ever jumped on a flowbench reality would sink in

I mean 4x50mm itb's=200 mm single tb ya thatll be the day

under that thought a street bike would be able to run a 168mm tb for example the gsxr that has 42mm itb's

Ok, that makes sense, but the 3ish extra square inches of area, and extra 1300 square millimeters on the ITB's won't make any difference? Also, Once the air gets into the plenum does it not experience this surface tension going down the individual runners? Please give me a serious response/explanation (learning experience).

Re: Start DIY ITB

YA DUDE
AIR STILL HAS SURFACE TENSION INSIDE THE RUNNERS, IT STILL SCRAPES AGAINST THE WALLS OF THE RUNNERS.

my mugen chip is very cool..
if nedded i can upload him. But he for pw0/pr3 ecu. BRE is cool editor//
