The .45 models dont have the rubberized ergonomically designed grip, it feels more like a glock without it. Its personal preference though.

Havent got it yet. Im still deciding between 7.62 or going all out with the 6.5 grendel. I need to do more research and see if i can get a 30round magazine for the grendel, If i can i'll be going with that. Im about to pickup a Mini14 so i have my .223 caliber covered, got my 9mm covered and my 22. Now i need a huge caliber rifle round and I think the 6.5 should be enough. Next will be a shotty and a .44 mag

You got your permit within a week of applying for it? Damn, that's ------- quick. It takes weeks out here in AZ. :l

Re: "stand your ground"

i saw one of those little revolvers at the local shop a while ago, does it also have a belt clip on the other side? and who makes it, i think its american arms or something?

MerkurColin 02-23-2008 05:45 PM

Re: "stand your ground"

Yeah, it's made by North American Arms. It's got a belt/pocket clip on the side, but I just throw it in my pocket. It feels exactly like my folding box cutter when it's in my pocket. :y

I picked up the gun itself and three boxes of CCI ammo (one of which says "EXPLOSIVE" and has a picture of dynamite on it :S) for $250.

Re: "stand your ground"

damn at the shop it was like $112

MerkurColin 02-23-2008 06:02 PM

Re: "stand your ground"

Was it scratched from falling off the truck? :l

The MSRP is like $200 for the standard .22LR without folding handle - this one was $199 and it's a magnum with the handle. :y

I have the interarms .40 S&W and it is nice and compact. It carries well and has good stopping power.I just picked up a mini .30 with a 30 clip and that is fun to shoot.I have a .44 mag but that kicks hard and is not easy to carry. In connecticut you have to keep it concealed or you loose your permit.

Re: "stand your ground"

Im confident that my 9mm has enough power, its always loaded with hollowpoints and carries 17+1. I would like to get a bigger caliber semi-auto pistol, but probably not any time soon. Im picking up my mini 14 for about 500 bucks locally and im going to start my AR build. How does the mini30 kick? does it have alot of recoil? I want my AR to has a good amount of stopping power and I dont much care for the .223's besides the cost of ammo.

Oh yeah, the .44 mag is on the list too, I shot my stepdads and talk about a hand cannon, that thing has tons of stopping power.

The mini 30 shoots real real nice.Being a semi-auto it doesn't kick as bad as a lever 30-30.The only thing i notice is the barrel
gets real hot real quick when i rapid fire.Try a .40 S&W on your next semi pistol.

my friend has gotten me on this gun kick and now i just want a 22 rifle and like a 40 or a 45 pistol nothing to big and i dont wanna spend a lot of money im into cheap but effective..i think he paid 160 for his 9mm new and 170 for his 22 with a scope and extra clips all new..were do you guys buy guns online??

MerkurColin 02-24-2008 12:57 AM

Re: "stand your ground"

Buying guns online is a pain in the ass... you've gotta have the gun shipped to an FFL holder who can do the transfer for you. Go into your local Gander Mountain or Sportsman's Warehouse, point to a Ruger 10/22, say "That one," show them your driver's license, fill out the form (Yes, No, No, No, No, No, No...), plunk down $250, then go home and shoot a box of Thunderbolt through it. :1

But yeah... if you want a .22 rifle for your first gun, get a 10/22. They're cheap, durable, and there's a ton of aftermarket:

like 322 after taxes, the springfield armory sutff that similar to this gun run about 500 +. read a lot of forums about this tuarus and all good reveiws with no problems. confcealed was 55$. i think im going shooting tomorrow. damn its comforting having this on your hip, makes me wanna be a cop or some kind of law enforcement

and to scottsi, if you compare 9mm rounds to a 45, its a big difference, my other buddy has a 9mm and wishes he had gotten a 45 because theres so much more stopping power.

with that one being in your pocket, how safe is that with the hammer right out like that? seems like you could potentially go to grab something in your pocket and pop the hammer back and make it fire.

Re: "stand your ground"

i think soon i am going to get a Springfield 1911-A1, the exact ones that out issued to the military

scottsi 02-24-2008 04:51 AM

Re: "stand your ground"

i have a 10/22 too, I like it, but a 22 gets old quick. Its like a big bb gun. I want something that has a kick and some stopping power that would also be good for street sweeping if the need be.

They thought of that. Since it doesn't have a frame-mounted pin like my Taurus, North American Arms machined the cylinder with a groove between each hole. You half-cock the hammer, then decock it into one of the grooves. And obviously, you don't keep anything else in that pocket.

45 kick like a mule.keeping it on target shooting semi is hard. The .40S&W is a heavy big bullet.I am shooting 230 grain hollow points and because it a relativly slow bullet it doesn't kick bad AND has great stopping power. Most police forces are changing over to the .40 because of this.Try them both before you pick. Also .44 mag and .45 is more expensive to shoot
than the .40

Re: "stand your ground"

Eagle makes pretty good 30rd mags for the 10/22. I've got one and it's the most reliable magazine I've tried - second best have been the Shooter's Ridge 25rd (pictured above.) You can get some sweet rebuildable ones now, but I'm too cheap for that - this is a plinker, dammit. ;D

In other news... I shot 50 rounds through the mini revolver. This thing rules! It feels a lot like my Taurus both in recoil and in accuracy, but the ammo is a hell of a lot cheaper. :)

Also, eat my bozack. I'm aiming a 1-1/8" tube at a small piece of paper 30 feet away with no practical way to aim the thing. I was kinda sighting down the backstrap and using the front sight as a lateral indicator. There's no rear sight. ???
