Some peoples kids.....

http://www.havasunews.com/articles/2...ews/news01.txt

Some people wonder why other people carry guns. This is why. This nutbag pulls out a gun and blasts the other guy for punching him? Now both of their lives are fucked along with the familes because of this. Just ------- stupid. :3 This might not seem like that big of a deal to most of you who live in big cities, but this is ---- that happens in a small town(~50k people, mostly snowbirds and californians). People are fucked up. :-\

Those aren't kids, Justin.

Read the article closely, the gun toting gangster wannabe was an self-employed house painter. You and i both know that those guys are all sketchy as hell.

Gotta watch those self employed painters... ::cough:: stevemode :P

What a pile though, and making the excuse that he shot him because he got punched...

wrong JD, the guy that got a cap busted in his ass was the "self employed painter"

Oh! Well, that makes everything different. Why'd the shooter go to jail, then? ???

Yeah, the painter is dead. The landscaper is in jail forever. Crazy ----. I found them both on MySpace and they both have the same blank MySpace page. I just can't believe how some people can make such HUGE insane decisions that change/ruin so many lives in a split second. I wonder if this guy thinks that because the other guy took a swing at him he was justified in killing him? :l If so, how could someone be so clueless when it comes to a life or death matter? :l I should be a shrink. Peoples minds are strange and I want to know why, damn it. :7

Yeah, the days of duking it out with fists are over...I try not to start alot of ---- like that...I don't mind takin' an asswuppin' or giving one, but you never know what the other guy is gonna do after you kick his ass...I have friends that aren't around anymore over stuff like that...

Isn't that ------- stupid? Over a fight. So the guy basically decided in his head that he would rather kill this guy and spend the majority of his life in prison instead of walking away with a bloody lip. He could be waking up with a hangover and a sore face right now and go to work tomorrow and live his life and the other guy could be doing the same. That one stupid decision fucked his entire life up, ended another and ruined so many others. :3

I've taken so many psychology classes and spoken to psychologists/counselors (Psychology major if you can't tell) that it's not even funny, and I'm still completely puzzled as to why people think the way they do. I think it's hard to think like another person; for instance someone cuts you off on a highway and doesn't even blink. You'll get pissed because of what they did, but to them its just how they drive. I dunno

cliffs notes: People think differently than you and I, and I personally think they're just fucked in the head.

I think alot of things contribute to the actions of individuals our age(20-30) these days...I think our parents used ALOT of crazy drugs back in the sixties and seventies, and alot of the residue from those drugs(potent reefer, LSD, etc. etc.) has changed(??polluted??) the genetic code...I think alot of ppl have raised their children in such a haphazard manner that these kids have grown up(if you can call it that) to be spoiled menaces. They grow up seein' alot of violence on TV and they don't realize how things operate in REAL LIFE. U pull that trigger and there is no turning back...We are an EXTREMELY DESENSITIZED society...They're DEFINITELY WAAAAY OUT OF TOUCH WITH REALITY...I wonder if the shooter was drunk or high or what not?? Some people can control their buzz and act in a decent, civilized matter, some people can't. I'm not tryin' to make ANY excuse for the guy, because their really isn't one, I'm just tryin' to make a small inkling of sense out of it(I don't think there is one)...One thing is for sure, the shooter will regret that dumbass decision the rest of his life. I imagine by right now he is probaly askin' himself what the F@CK he has done...His busted lip or black eye or what not will heal in a weeks time, but his life and the life of MANY OTHERS(I wonder if the other guy had a wife and kids??) is screwed permanently...Like you guys said, VERY stupid and sad...

Hell yeah that's why I try to stray away from conflict. You might kick somones ass and he shows up two days later and blows your head off. People are just a bunch of sore pussies these days.

If you think anything is different about humans now, more violent, or whatever else, then you have no grasp of history. The "back in the day" line is complete bullshit.

The shitty thing is, what's done is done. There is no apologizing, no taking it back, no fixing it. It's permanent. What a way to go. I can see bank robbers and ---- and murderers that kill for money because at least they're gaining something out of the murder and risking their life for "something". I'm not saying it's right, but if you kill your wife for the insurance money, at least if you get away with it you will be living a decent life with a pocket full of cash. In this situation there is no winning. Even if he got away and they never caught him, what did he gain? ???

The house this guy lived at is like a block away from me. About a month ago there was an escaped inmate shot and killed by police about a block away. I feel like I live in the middle of the hood. :S

Or even worse, you kick that guys ass and it turns out the guy died over a simple punch to the temple and you're going to jail for the rest of your life over it. What a wonderful life you both had. I hope you enjoyed it. :l

Well in that case you could go for self defense. That's why I never throw the first punch. Like I said people are such sore pussies you can say a few words and they come swinging. I don't understand WTF is wrong with out legal system these days. If you are convicted of murder and there is with out a doubt you did it they should just kill your ass then. Public Hangings FTW. Bet people would think twice about the stupid ---- they do.

This ---- happens way too often and chances are at one time or another I've ran into these people or even hungout with them. I'm sure I've seen them at the bar. it's shocking to see ---- like this happen so close to home and so often anymore. Murders in this town are happening more often now and the town isn't growing enough for ---- like that to be happening more often. :l 5 years ago I don't think there was more than 1 or 2 murders here. Now they happen all the time. The cops have killed quite a few people in the past 2-3 years. :l

Hell, I don't think theres been a murder in my town in 80 years or so, I think when I looked it up, last murder was like in 1924 or something LOL. Go to neighboring towns and it's not quite the same.

Well, I'll tell you what, Sigmon Freud, since your the psych and history major and all, you find us the murder rates for this country now, compared to saaaay 50 or 75 years ago and let's see how it adds up...You may very well be right, but I highly doubt it...People used to have wars in order to conquer land and ---- like that, and yeah I think that's dumb as hell too, but there is a little more to that than just killin' a man 'cause he took a swing at you...You see westerns where guys are killin' each other over card games and ----, but ALOT of that is just hollywood bullshit....

And oh yeah, JD, the shooter was 23. In this day and age you have ALOT of 23 year old kids out there. Meanin' they have never had to be responsible for anything, including their actions, their entire life...Mommy and Daddy have always took care of everything...

Homicide rates from those times would be pretty useless. Anyone could have faked a suicide or accident then and no one would be the wiser.

Why not? You shoot someone put a gun in their hand and bam suicide. Not to mention how many were just plain unreported?

I agree with doug, forensic evidence gets us a long way nowadays. Also I don't think people like say, the coroner, had the technology or know-how they do nowadays, with being able to tell what kind of bullet wound was inflicted from what angle and whatnot...

Population density directly influences homocide rate. Ma Nature's instinctual population control.

the 50's? the mid 30's during prohibition? back on the western frontier where people got shot for looking at you queer? back to europe where people used to tie them selfs together with a belt and hold a pint of liquor and a knife and see who comes out alive for fun? it can be done for any time period. you being nostalgic and believing other peoples nostalgia is causing you to look on the past with bright eyes, when it's not much different sans technology, than today. I'd actually say now it's quite a bit better, saying as there's more outlets for the unsocial to completely detach themselves from the world.

That ---- happens out here at least once a day in Syracuse. Thankfully there is a magic barrier that keeps them on their side of the tracks. The nogs out here are killing each other daily and when they are out on bail, they get killed. Street justice works better than court justice out here. It's still better than Los Angeles where people are killed and it doesn't even make the news because it is so common.
