No, you cannot wire in a resistor to UP the voltage. If it were the other way around and the had 12 volts and need something on the 6 volt scale it would most likely be possible. Now there may be a circuit that could be used to read a 6 volt range signal and accomodate the 12 volt requirement, but I would be is in the "special AFC" that you mentioned.

One of my friend's had the same exact car, but in blue...he had the same problem with the wastegate as you do. I talked to him a few times about the car, and he said he had a found a way to chip the ecu...only problem was the way the ecu's are setup it erases what you programmed on when you turn off the car, so you'd have to have a constant voltage source to the ecu in order to retain your tune. All in all they aren't too bad, and they handle like a beast too.
