haha you couldn't kill a geo with a gallon of water in the intake pipe. this bitch has 450,xxx miles on it and still ran. i had to break out the air compressor and blow directly into the intake to get it to fire up, but once it ran it ran hard ( for 3 cylinders). over all great car for the extremely low cost. i would really like to get a stock turbo car since thats kinda the reason i sold the civic. A couple of days ago i was driving home from the prison i work at and the sunroof just ------- flew off. left the frame and motor in place but the glass was gone. i got pissed and sold it about an hour later. coulda got probably $500 more for it cuz it was pretty clean but didn't have the patience to ---- around. at least i kept the zc ive been building. might sell that too though. anyways, buying a car that i have to work on all the time is what im trying to get away from. not saying i don't mind working on it, but breaking once a week is ridiculous. And i guess since ive been lurking here for around a year now with a turbo project in the works but never got boosted, i might as well just buy a stock turbo car and upgrade.
Im in the same exact boat as you. I might pick up this 240 with a ca18det swap and some goodies for 3k

Have you ever worked on one of those?? ^^^ ------- slow and a bitch.

I have been down this road before. What did I get? Another honda, except newer. I have had a... (in this order)

2000 Civic DX Automatic Coupe (nitrous) -White
1992 Civic DX Hatch (d15b turbo) -White
1994 Civic DX Hatch (b18c1 Fully built N/A) -Red

Now a...
1998 Civic EX Coupe (N/A, But I have everything for a full badass vitara setup) White.

Why? Because they are easy to work on, reliable, cheap to own AND modify, aftermarket market like no other, and blows doors off a ton of other cars with the right modification. Why not go with another rotary? Nothing in the reliability department but they are a blast to work with and drive. Keep your eyes open nigga nook. Dont get something your going to regret just because your looking for a stock POS with a turbo on it.

3000GT are awkward to work on, if it isn't every other bellhousing bolt breaking off it is every bellhousing bolt breaking off. You won't be able to afford gas to make the frequent trips to the fastener supply house.

I'd take JD's advice and look for a Buick T-Type, I love those cars, they sound like ---- and look slow but with some work can be awesome...I like all the older 80 model factory turbo cars...Dodge,Chrysler,Plymouth Daytona,Charger,Lasers...Ford SVO Mustang,Turbo Thundertird,Probe/MX6turbo...GMC Syclones/Typhoons are badass but good luck finding one that isn't gonna cost you an arm and a leg, most people knew when they bought those vehicles what they had and took GOOD care of them...haven't seen too many ragged out ones on the market...I also like Isuzu Impulses, the RS turbo model....and this might get flamed, but have you thought about a Hyundai Turbo Scoupe?? i think the Aussie's make badass little cars out of those...
