Re: sold my honda, whats next?

Four door stock turbo early 90's? I'll look around autotrader, nothing really comes to mind right now.

Re: sold my honda, whats next?

Dodge Spirit R/T... but good luck finding one especially for a price you want to pay.
Audi S4.

TorganFM 04-03-2007 08:13 AM

Re: sold my honda, whats next?

1.8t obd1? Where?
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=1&cardist=129
Spirit R/T... you won't find any stock 4cyl turbo in those years with more power.

I thought you were looking for a better car. Get the vr4

HondaTuner 04-03-2007 09:23 AM

Re: sold my honda, whats next?

I think a Capri XR2 would suit your personality and power requirements nicely. :)

Re: sold my honda, whats next?

Lol...------- XR2's...I think those come stock with dildo's mounted in the driver seats. And why yes...everything you looking for fits for my VR4. Hell find a sube wagon and I'll trade you. You probably like a bazillion light years away though. My luck aways works that way. :-\

RotaryGeek 04-03-2007 01:24 PM

Re: sold my honda, whats next?

ha ha wasnt an xr2 your first car jd? a flat black slammed turbo subie wagon does sound pretty tempting though. maybe it was a 2.0t i was thinking about....

Re: sold my honda, whats next?

No, my first car was an 89 Geo Metro, nice try. You should have read my sig before posting if you wanted ammo to fire at me. :P

BTW, I'd be happy to buy an XR2 with a good engine, everything else about it can be negotiable. It's a more or less common bottom end, would make a cheap swap for the Miata I want.

RotaryGeek 04-03-2007 05:16 PM

Re: sold my honda, whats next?

just ------- with you man. i had a metro as my first car too. a vr4 would be cool but finding one localy would be murder.

HondaTuner 04-03-2007 05:21 PM

Re: sold my honda, whats next?

If you pay me, I'll fly to wisconsin, pick up his VR4 and drive it to you, then fly home. :P

I'd want all expenses paid + $600 for my time ;)

Re: sold my honda, whats next?

uh no thanks but you could think of another stock turbo car for me.

look for a cheap dsm, then swap out the motor for a 6bolt

TorganFM 04-03-2007 10:19 PM

Re: sold my honda, whats next?

If you're going to do a swap with anything DSM, get a Colt and drops a 6 bolt in it.. don't ---- around with an Eclipse if you're just going to swap anyway.

Anyway, sometimes you have to look for a hot minute, but you can still find Buick T-types that have sat for a hot minute, and their owners don't know what they are. If you aren't rushing into anything, I'd waste a month and just look at various ----.

BTW, the 4G63 into a Colt is a fine idea, there's one locally that only puts out 250-ish, but at 1800 lbs there isn't much that can hang with it. Even a 7-bolt can take that abuse, and you sidestep the DSM transmission death syndrome by losing 1400 lbs going with the Colt chassis. :y

haha you couldn't kill a geo with a gallon of water in the intake pipe. this bitch has 450,xxx miles on it and still ran. i had to break out the air compressor and blow directly into the intake to get it to fire up, but once it ran it ran hard ( for 3 cylinders). over all great car for the extremely low cost. i would really like to get a stock turbo car since thats kinda the reason i sold the civic. A couple of days ago i was driving home from the prison i work at and the sunroof just ------- flew off. left the frame and motor in place but the glass was gone. i got pissed and sold it about an hour later. coulda got probably $500 more for it cuz it was pretty clean but didn't have the patience to ---- around. at least i kept the zc ive been building. might sell that too though. anyways, buying a car that i have to work on all the time is what im trying to get away from. not saying i don't mind working on it, but breaking once a week is ridiculous. And i guess since ive been lurking here for around a year now with a turbo project in the works but never got boosted, i might as well just buy a stock turbo car and upgrade.

still kinda lost as to what to buy. found a really high mileage twin turbo 3000gt but the miles make me worry. any other suggestions?

Re: sold my honda, whats next?

Have you ever worked on one of those?? ^^^ ------- slow and a bitch.

I have been down this road before. What did I get? Another honda, except newer. I have had a... (in this order)

2000 Civic DX Automatic Coupe (nitrous) -White
1992 Civic DX Hatch (d15b turbo) -White
1994 Civic DX Hatch (b18c1 Fully built N/A) -Red

Now a...
1998 Civic EX Coupe (N/A, But I have everything for a full badass vitara setup) White.

Why? Because they are easy to work on, reliable, cheap to own AND modify, aftermarket market like no other, and blows doors off a ton of other cars with the right modification. Why not go with another rotary? Nothing in the reliability department but they are a blast to work with and drive. Keep your eyes open nigga nook. Dont get something your going to regret just because your looking for a stock POS with a turbo on it.

Re: sold my honda, whats next?

3000GT are awkward to work on, if it isn't every other bellhousing bolt breaking off it is every bellhousing bolt breaking off. You won't be able to afford gas to make the frequent trips to the fastener supply house.

Re: sold my honda, whats next?

I'd take JD's advice and look for a Buick T-Type, I love those cars, they sound like ---- and look slow but with some work can be awesome...I like all the older 80 model factory turbo cars...Dodge,Chrysler,Plymouth Daytona,Charger,Lasers...Ford SVO Mustang,Turbo Thundertird,Probe/MX6turbo...GMC Syclones/Typhoons are badass but good luck finding one that isn't gonna cost you an arm and a leg, most people knew when they bought those vehicles what they had and took GOOD care of them...haven't seen too many ragged out ones on the market...I also like Isuzu Impulses, the RS turbo model....and this might get flamed, but have you thought about a Hyundai Turbo Scoupe?? i think the Aussie's make badass little cars out of those...
