SoCal Drag Meet Results

Results?
http://www.newbieforces.com/files/P7170009.jpg
Well, I got home at 2am.
The tow-truck almost ran out of gas after 75 miles.
My block has holes in both sides.
The wife was not so happy.
Thanks everyone for helping out. I'm gonna go get the timeslips and post them. Even though they suck.
Whoever had a camera, post the pics. And everyone post their times.

That's strange. The last time I used a tow truck in CAlifornia the guy was talking like he wasn't going to have enough gas to make it. ???

Do I see 5 lugs on the front of that Civic? ???

Re:SoCal Drag Meet Results

I had a pretty good night. 14.1 @ 100 for the first two runs on wack ass street tires. Third run I put Renr's nitto 555r's on and ran a 13.86 @ 100.
After that run I went to the store and up'd the boost controller. ;D lowered tire pressure and the car was fucken wild on the way back. Pulled up to the line, fucked up the launch and then blew a charge pipe. (At least I had a good excuse after that launch) ;) The car was pulling harder than ever at this point.
It was getting toward the end of the night, so the timeslip booth said to go ahead and get back in the staging lanes. Me and Renr fixed the charge pipe issue while in line and it was on. Sitting 3 cars behind the water box Mike (Whiterice) pulls up to the line, launches, hits 20 psi and blows the ---- out of his block. ---- all over the track. The cleanup took longer than we had time to race, so they turned everyone around to go home. An overall good meet except for Mike completely destroying the motor (front and back) :o
The 31st I'm going back hoping to tag that 12 second mark. ;)

juli0_bustamante 07-18-2004 12:59 PM

Re:SoCal Drag Meet Results

yes....he blew up right before me and Stevemode....it was gonne be the last run and everyone was pissed! i was like man i hope i find out what moron blew up! then i find it was mike, im like oh ----... needless to say i changed my attitude about the whole thing. but it was all good. we all had a kick ass time. The 4door ran its best time of 16.2 lol ( non boost motor ) and i had fun. I didnt pass tech the first time cause the bitch ass "mayate" was being a turd. he said that my battery box wasnt NHRA approved and that i would be able to race. so i then go to the end of the line and get inspected by this cool ass white dude! fucken ay, he was cool ass ---- and didnt give nay of the HMT members anyshit! anyway im sure the other guys will tell you how it all went down.

-julio-

p.s.

Kyle was dancing for gas money...too funny!

The trip was worth it, even though it was hot as hell. I'm glad it was just the block and not the tranny/axles.

.
run1 - bad run. detonation all the way
run2 - bad run. detonation all the way
run3 - turned boost and afc down. clean run on 4psi.

Re:SoCal Drag Meet Results

it was definately a nice meet. it was good to see some of the new faces of the so cal gang. at least two of the car where in the 13's(steve and murdoc) the other three in the 15's(--------, whiterice and bambi) julio in the sixteens and my dumb ass in low 17's all day due to some serious traction problems, the nittos just werent cutting it :P . that was lovely. i know steve couldve pulled better numbers but he luanches like a noob ;) that lil hf was ripping up the track and beat the ---- outta a hemi truck even with the bad a launch.

mike i hope you get that car runing soon so we can blow up another one. let us know when u do the install

juli0_bustamante 07-18-2004 01:35 PM

Re:SoCal Drag Meet Results

RENR 07-18-2004 01:38 PM

Re:SoCal Drag Meet Results

Re:SoCal Drag Meet Results

there's was this loud ass redneck sitting behind me and a few of the other hmt homies while we were watching the races, and he gets all hoped up about the hemi powered truck. the truck thoroughly kicks steve's ass off the line, then steve rapes the ---- out of it and that guy shuts the hell up for 5 seconds and it was all great again.

thanks to everyone who pitched in for gas money for me, I really wouldn't have made it home without it, I have like $10 now and an empty tank of gas, good thing the civic still has about half a tank, looks like I'll be driving that for the week.

I've been up for 27 hours now, and I can't go to sleep because I'm all coffee'd up, I have to be at work in 2 hours, the coffee should ware off by then and I can fall asleep in the storage area, good times.

thanks doc for... oh wait, you weren't there nm. did your roomate tell you I slept on the couch? what time did you get home on saturday?

mut be nice to be 17 and stay up for 27 ------- HOURS!!

Honda16hb 07-18-2004 01:55 PM

Re:SoCal Drag Meet Results

I'll probably be up for at least 37 hours before I go to sleep, a new personal record for myself. I set the record at 30 on my tour when I drove from san fran to washington.

I was falling asleep so damn much on the way back, I'm suprised I didn't hit anybody or run anybody off the road. now I'm so cafeined up I can't sleep at all.

That wasn't a Hemi truck. It was a SRT-10 which has 500hp w/ the Viper motor.

don't worry, he pre-loads the clutch, whatever the ---- that means.

I don't know what the ---- I was thinking when I was telling everybody it was a 10 hour drive over there, that's 10 hours with the time change in my favor hauling balls, it took me 13 hours to get home (time change adjusted) and I was tired as ---- so I was probably driving 50 and not even noticing for most of california.

Oh yeah Dale Earndhart JR. crashed today on a road course...i thought it was funny cause the guy on the commentary was like

channel 2 comnnentary:
dale earndhart Jr. won't be running the road cousre today, do you know why?
JULIO BUSTAMANTE:cause he only knows how to race in circular tracks that only have left turns?

i laughed for a good 5 minutes when i saw the car run off the road hit the wall and burst into flames.

He is also in the hospital with burns on 70% of his body...

Re:SoCal Drag Meet Results

I would have been in the 14's but I need to address a wheel hopping problem, and a cooling system problem.

my e/t's were in the low 15's all night (15.2-ish), but my 60 times were appx 2.4's (rediculous)

the first three runs were (all at 7psi) as follows

15.35
15.25
15.66 (mis-shifted 3rd TWICE)

then the last run (at 9psi) has a sory behind it..

My 60 time was the WORST of the night at a 2.48
I hit the 8th mile and glanced down to see my temp guage PEGGED red.
I imediately let off the gas. (well,as immediately as my brain could get the signal from my eyes seeing the temp guage to my right foot)
and coasted to my best e/t of the night at 15.2 flat.

that was my ----------ing 14.9 run, son of a bitch.

Well, Kyle was in charge of collecting the cash for the R/T pot and I think he collected from two people. Mike (Whiterice) won it with a .530 and took home $20 for his new motor. :-X
