If you pay it off every month you don't get charged the interest. Even on a $500 debt at only 19.8% the interest isn't as bad as it seems. :-\ Getting a credit card is a very good idea as long as you don't get out of control with it. You'll have a hard time in the future getting a loan without any credit history(I'm sure you know this already). :-\

I don't know exactly what my credit rating is, but it was good enough to buy my house :). Although my loan officer did say I had "really good credit".

I have good credit. Never missed a payment. But i have a loan out on School and my Car. ---- ill never get out of debt.

Credit cards= Legal way to rob the middle class.

Cash is king, but unless you have a lot of it...there will still be things you need credit for.

Dr.Boost you should get a new job selling credit cards ;D. I also dont have one but i got paper work from my bank today to get one. Paying cash is a pain in the ass sometimes.

how do you get your credit report? i have had 3 credit cards since november 17th (7 days after my 18th bday) and i have spent over 3000 on the cards and payed them all off within a month, i would like to see how this is working on my credit :-)

You can call them and ask for it. You can get several credit reports online, but they cost you and they aren't "true" credit ratings. They will tell you how things are working for you though.
