Spoon and i have offically quit smoking for 3 and a half weeks! I have started to do some calculations and we have saved almost $340. Thats sick. But Spoon has been sick like almost the whole time.

the worst part is when we are drinking all of our friends smoke and then I really, really want one still. I think that people might wonder whats going on if we both leave the room every 10 minutes

Congrats! ;D It only get easier from here. Remember you can never have another again or then it starts all over again.

I'm going on three and a half years. I tried quitting numerous times but i couldn't until I was bedridden with "mono" for two weeks. :-X

Just don't go drinking. You'll save money and save your lifespan both ways. I mean if your drinking your still killing your liver so why don't you just smoke anyways? Whats so cool about drinking or smoking anyways? The thing I spend time with that does both is my car :P

Smoking sucks. I smoked for like 5 years or so. I quit, started back up, quit, started back up and now I'm quit again. I smoke when I drink, but it usually only takes one or two cigarettes to kick my ass and make me realize smoking sucks.

You'll feel so much better after you quit. You can taste food, you can breathe, you have way more energy, you feel better all around, but the downside to being a girl and quiting is you want to eat food like a maniac. You should pick up a hobby like jogging or working out or anything that gets you active. I wanted to eat everything I saw after I quit smoking.

ya its not that bad, but my new years resolution is to join a gym and walk everyday.....i havent gained any weight since i quit, but weve gone through some ---- so i think thats why.

What's so different about a girl smoking and a guy smoking. So you gain some pounds. So instead of making your life last longer and not smelling like a ashtray or tasting like one your rather ---- on your lungs instead? I guess I never smoked in my life and never saw a reasone why people would ever want to? Whats the point of smoking? To be able to blow smoke out your mouth or nose or is it cold where you live and it keeps your warm or what? I think a better way is if your trying to quit is to take your 5 dollars or whatever they cost and just light it on fire and watch it burn to ashes and then realize thats were your money when. To ashes.

Haven't you ever talked to a girl? The difference is girls watch every pound they gain(most anyways :-X)and guys generally don't give a ---- if they gain 5-10 pounds.

Since you have never smoked you don't realize the serious addiction involved with nicotine. That ---- is crazy. I still crave cigarettes years after I've stopped. I've done alot of drugs in my life and was able to quit them all, but cigarettes IMO are the most addicting of them all.

Congratulations and I hope you stay smoke free. I was up to 2 packs a day when I realized how retarded it was to smoke and I quit by smoking less and less until I was down to 1 cigarette a day after about a week of that, I just decided I didn't need it anymore. Every now and again, I'll catch a hint of a clove (what I smoked for a few years) and get a craving, but it doesn't take much to overcome it.

Yeah Doc I guess it's totally different since I never touched a cigarette in my life even from having both of my parents who smoked and also having tobacco being such a big role in my tribe. Hell at native american funerals they have huge bowls like a big caserole dish filled to the top with smokes for people to take like they were candy. Maybe thats were our tribe's logo came from as "Keeper of the fire"? I guess I just hated smelling the smoke all the time and from the coughing that came with being around them. My mom stopped like when I was really young but my dad still smokes. One thing I looked for when going out with girls is ones that didn't smoke cause I didn't care how hot or nice of a personality you had I wouldn't touch you with a ten foot pole. Just something I didn't want to deal with. But best of luck with kicking your habit.

Yeah, I avoid girls who smoke. As a non-smoker, kissing a girl who smokes is nasty.

My mom smoked for as long as I can remember, but she quit after the first time I quit and has been smoke-free for years now.

I guess I just don't get it from a girls point. Okay you may be skinny but your clothes, house(if you smoke inside) car smell like ---- and breath smells like ass and your teeth have major funk and your gonna age faster and get some major wrinkles, but thats cool as long as you keep some extra pounds off? Hmmm I don't see the trade off or what girls are thinking if their so into looking there best.

its just one of those things you have to tough out...

He'll get over the being sick thing soon enough, and then its just matter of will power. My bro in law eventually got to the point where he was just grossed out by it. Went back and tried it again once and it just reminded him why he quit.

ps - over time you'll get to have your sense of smell and taste back, and thats pretty cool.

The only reason I haven't quit smoking yet is because I'm convinced that I'll die in a car crash or something like that anyway, and then I'll be mad at myself for quitting. lol
It's the only thing I haven't gotten control of, but I'd like to for sure.

i smoke, after quiting for 2 years i started again last year in Oct. i quit a few months ago on the patch for a week and started again after i ran out of patches :P

i just recentely quit. I just couldnt take it anymore. What really help me personally was watching my Grandma in the hospital with neumonia gasping for air, while her lungs werent exchanging any oxygen because she smoked her whole life.

I'm not going out like that. When i die and meet God, im going to arive on a fireball going 200mph.

I'll have a smoke at work, or uh....if I'm in a bar. It's a social thing when at a bar...more of a stress reliever/excuse to leave and go outside at work. Other than that, I don't smoke. They're not something I need. Shoot, I don't remember the last time I had a smoke...They're obviously so important to me ;) lol

baseball bats are more fun but i think its harder to get off a murder conviction if you beat someone to death. you can kill someone with one shot and not mean to murder them but if you beat them to death there is pleanty of time to stop so you might be fucked legally.
