I guess I need tp tell them they are wrong.

Re: slicks
Actualy, a bigger tire could help your MPH by turning 1-2-3 into useable gears insted of just tire burners. There's more than one abosolute determining factor in selecting the tire size. It will take more energy to turn them because the extra height on the tire adds load to the engine, but... if your car can push them it will net you a higher mph for the gear/rpm your in/at. Thats pretty much if your power level is to high for how close your gearing is.

Re: slicks
well, its something you have to ballance because of the added torque on your engine.
Think of using a ratchet. You have a bolt to turn thats just not moving. So you go and grab the breaker bar to put more torque on the bolt. Easier to turn now, right? Well, when you run larger tires, you have the oppisate effect of that on your engine. Its more of a load on your engine to push that 6.5 feet out in a rotation than it is for it to pull your car 5.7 feet.

Re: slicks
You want tire OD to get you exactly through the traps at the top of 4th @ redline. You're perfect as you sit, Leroy, but if you turn up the boost (or get better launches causing you to redline in 4th sooner) then you need a bigger OD tire.
Got any video of these sucky launches of yours? We can critique and offer suggestions (some of them constructive).

I have no videos, some people I knew took some but I never get them.
it is so embarassing, I will go up run a 12, then go again run a 14, it sucks, I cant drive for ----, but the funny thing about it I stiff win the race.
my problem is sometimes missing shifts, shifting too early because I dont have any traction, and I shift before I hook up.
when I use fts and ftl I have a dad habbit of resting my foot on the clutch so I hit my rev limit at 6500rpm thats where my fts is set at. its embarassing sometimes. because I just started racing on tracks, I used to be streets. but I am using this as a learning experience for next season.
