well we finally got Skinny E's car running. Its not running that great and won't go past 3500rpms, but it boosts to 8 psi at 3000rpms (i believe you have to ask Skinny)
Skinny E got the specs on parts and such I'll let him post about it. onto the pictures

Looks clean.. any more exterior shots? Whats the fuel management, uberdata? And what are the plans for the Hyundai? ^-^

Wow. VERY VERY VERY nice times 100. Seriously. Clean. Not -------rigged. I like it alot! Keep us posted. This is your first? Nice job fellas! Wow. I must say I'm VERY impressed. All the way from the IC placement to the cool blue IC pipes. Good job. Can't seem to say enough. ;D Oh yea, more pics of the hot guy with the red cap. :P LOL. Just kidding. ;) ;D

samson just came...

anyways looks good except for the severly non functional intercooler.

id get a fan at least on that thing asap. otherwise heat soak owns you, and maybe your motor.

its not about being nice fetus boy, its about telling the truth, and the truth is that intercooler is more like a inter-heater.

hotrex has run a sidemount like that himself, its not like he's talking out his ass here.

samson 07-04-2005 04:40 PM

Re: Skinny E Turbo Almost done 56k eat a cookie

I know I hear ya. I actually thought the same thing when I saw it. However, I never ran a sidemount so I wouldn't know. So I commented on what I do know.

Maybe he's planning on putting on a hood scoop ;)

good ----, i did an install like that a few months ago with legacyf22 and midniteracerx, it was a bitch with the ic in the engine bay, good job

accordepicenter 07-04-2005 10:53 PM

Re: Skinny E Turbo Almost done 56k eat a cookie

Is that a DSM T25? Bet that ---- blows off with an idle rev

volumeking333 07-04-2005 11:33 PM

Re: Skinny E Turbo Almost done 56k eat a cookie

ok we are working on the IC problem with it getting hot
we have 3 options
1) hood scoop
2) cut a hole in the headlight where the brights are and run a PVC pipe with a scoop underneath the IC
3) a fan
its more an likely going to be a fan, probably a couple computer fans.

Fuel is Uberdata and some DSM injectors (I don't know what size have to wait until Skinny E replies)
and yes the turbo is t25 off a DSM. like i said in my first post it spools quickly

most of the technical stuff your going to have to wait for Skinny E to reply. I don't know which parts are from what car or what he used, I just helped install it (since no one else would)

Re: Skinny E Turbo Almost done 56k eat a cookie

About time he got that done. Why did he decide to mount the intercooler in the engine bay ??? I'm not big on Hondas, but is it hard to do that with the F22?

accordepicenter 07-05-2005 12:16 AM

Re: Skinny E Turbo Almost done 56k eat a cookie

why didnt you mount the smic in the pass side fender and behind the bumper etc, RENR stylez... i bet it would work great like that

IndianRide 07-05-2005 12:52 AM

Re: Skinny E Turbo Almost done 56k eat a cookie

The setup is as follows
dsm manifold
dsm 450's
saab intercooler
1g bov
2'' and 2.5'' mandrel
t25 I know its too small but I needed something good for cheap
2.25'' exhuast from turbo back
stealthmode oil lines
gauges autometer and a ricer flashy light for sunpro
uberdata
p06

I put the intercooler there because it looked like it could be done so I did it, I bought a fan today for it as well,

the hyundai is my pizza delivery car/winter beater, I don't know if I should mod it or not, I've already elimated powersteering on accident. The pump seized, got rid of ac, cone filter cause I had an extra one, and I may do exhaust. I'm waiting for a turbo model to come into the junkyard so I can swap engines. If I can ever find one.

Oh yeah I beleive the car won't rev past 3500rpm cause the map sensor is either bad or can't take boost, so I'm going to the junkyard tomarrow to take as many as can fit in my pockets. ;D

Re: Skinny E Turbo Almost done 56k eat a cookie

Good to see someone found a use for my old parts. :)
For the IC heres what I'd do; make an air duct from the bumper up to the IC. You could cut a hole in the bumper and run big hose from there right up to where the intake resinator came through the metal into the engine bay. Then I'd make an IC sprayer and THEN raise the back of you hood w/a few washers/longer bolts to allow the air to escape.

Oh, when you go to the track, bring plenty of ice/ice water so in between runs you can cool that puppy down.

Re: Skinny E Turbo Almost done 56k eat a cookie

Yeah if you don't already have the Uberdata running in there then it'll go into limp mode (I think). I think it also does the same thing if you go above 10psi on a stock MAP...somebody who knows for sure should chime in here.

I dunno. Somebody last week tried to make a post about it, but I don't think too many people responded. It shoudl be soon though, most everybody has their kit together, and the weather is getting to be pretty nice.

Re: Skinny E Turbo Almost done 56k eat a cookie

getting to be pretty nice? Summer is full on and were going to miss it if we dont make a track date. Im going to rock falls on the tenth if cray will ever help me fine tune my ----.

IndianRide 07-05-2005 12:21 PM

Re: Skinny E Turbo Almost done 56k eat a cookie

I'm going to the rock too, but probually not racing unless if I can get the car to rev pat 3grand. I'm going to the junkyard today to get some new map sensors to see if that will work.

The cavy in the background of the last pic is volumeking's

damn, nice set up man. cant wait till u come back with dyno numbers, and slips.

thats the closest ive ever seen a bov to the TB. i thought it was beter if u put it a lil further away from it.? iuno

Re: Skinny E Turbo Almost done 56k eat a cookie

Well, let's get a BBQ together so Cray and tune both of us, along with Elijah. Then we'll all head to rock falls, or cedar falls.

Cray isn't tuning my car, darksol and I are, we have a wideband ;)

N00b Alert!

What? On a stock map sensor? So if you spike like 15lbs or something it will drop to 3500rpm into limp mode? Does Uberdata have a boost safety feature if you boost over it's limit it drops it to 3500rpms? Thanks!

Re: Skinny E Turbo Almost done 56k eat a cookie

with uberdata it'll only read to like 11.3 psi or something like that. i've boosted 15 psi on the stock map sensor. haha didnt last too long afterwards. but you will not get a check light if your running uberdizzle with the stock map. all you need to do is richen up the last bar to compensate for more boost. something must be wrong if your going into limp mode.

we did switch Skinny E's MAP today and its still doesnt run past 3500rpms. we have no idea whats going on.
Could it be all in the uberdata. I honestly don't know anything about that program but could it be causing the problem? I really want this thing to run, almost as badly as Skinny E

I think we are going to the track on the 10th, Skinny E will be running if his car is, and also the Nissan nx2000 w/ the Sr20DET swap that was posted a few weeks ago will be there. I'll be there with the camera, video and digi.

and for the person who asked for more pictures of the exterior here is pics from before the turbo

The cavy is mine. most of you won't like it for many reasons (its not a honda, its not boosted {but will be hopefully before winter}, and its got a unpainted front kit on it) but if you don't like it...I don't give a f*ck i like it and thats all that matters

HondaTuner 07-05-2005 11:13 PM

Re: Skinny E Turbo Almost done 56k eat a cookie

Did you try running another map on it? Cars look good btw. Paint your kit :P

volumeking333 07-05-2005 11:16 PM

Re: Skinny E Turbo Almost done 56k eat a cookie

we tried a different map from a different accord.
would one from a diferent car work? what other maps are swapable? i might have to go to a different junkyard tomorrow night for him if he works and find some

and my kit will be painted but i need another job, mine sucks and i want the turbo first

volumeking333 07-06-2005 01:23 AM

Re: Skinny E Turbo Almost done 56k eat a cookie

has anyone put a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail?
how hard is it? which ones work?

i'm thinking that the fuel pressure might not be able to handle the boost. and the only way i know of to check the fuel pressure is with a gauge on the fuel rail.

hell the fuel injectors might even be clipping and not getting any fuel in

am i thinking right here? could this be the problem or is it just because its 1:20 am and i'm tired and not thinking logicaly

Oscar 07-06-2005 01:30 AM

Re: Skinny E Turbo Almost done 56k eat a cookie

the p06 should be fine, everyone that i know with a boosted accord uses the p06, and has no problems. what all have u done on uberdata? like what things did u change? whats enabled, whats disabled, tell us what things u played with, maybe u messed something up.

BoosTedZSix 07-06-2005 09:34 AM

Re: Skinny E Turbo Almost done 56k eat a cookie

its not the ecu. it could possibly be a bad eprom or its just not burning properly..try making a map it crome!! i just made one right now but i can't upload it.

volumeking333 07-06-2005 10:27 AM

Re: Skinny E Turbo Almost done 56k eat a cookie

darksol was the one with the uberdata, he's the only one that knows how to use it. so if he ever replies he could tell ya.

can anyone else try a make a dif map and we can see if that works

IndianRide 07-06-2005 04:38 PM

Re: Skinny E Turbo Almost done 56k eat a cookie

Darksol2005 and I tryed 2 different uberdata maps one for an f22b, and the other for a dseries. Neither would allow the car to rev past 3500 rpm under load. I'll ask darksol to post up the map if he can since its on his computer and not mine.

But really, Im glad your set up isnt ghetto rigged in there. Its looking great skinnye but we have to figure out that intercooler. hopefully you can get the tuning figured out in time for the track.
