Show me your box!!!

Alright guy's, I thought I'd start something new. Since this is an automotive forum and we all work on our vehichles, we must have tools right? I want to see what everyone works out of, post up your toolboxes. Should be interesting to see just like the "post up your room/ house/pets/ naked wife" pics O0.

I just stepped up my old Craftsman box this week and bought this one. It's a hella lot deeper than my old one, more draw's all ball bearing, and it's a Blue Point from Snap-On. Would have gotten better pics and an open shot (things taller than me open), but there was a truck parked right behind me.

Excuse my goofy ass, I just wanted to get home after a 9 hour day.

At my work everyone steals eachothers ---- to, I got most of my stuff from the tool crib

Oh ya, Ive got a full set of aerospace quality 0-12" mics and a few bore mics and about 3 torque wrenches

Abaz, who makes that stainless steel box that's next to yours? I like that look. I wanted something like that and asked Snap-On if they have anything similar, but the only thing close was Arctic Silver which wasn't even silver. It was more like gray primer with clear coat over it. I like the triple bank you got. Snap-On charges $8100 for a triple bank and that's without SS top.

I dont know who makes that box, but you can get it from (costco) its a local place that sells massive ---- in super bulk. Great deals too, that stainless box is pretty badass. Our journymen tech bought that as a entry level box. I think he paid 750 bucks!! really good deal, its all ball bearing (includes top and bottom) I'd definatly sport one of those at home.

I dont think Snapon/matco/Mac anyone has a big tripple bank that is fully stainless, my bosses really wanted a fully stainless box, but ended up getting the "titanium" color

https://www.homemadeturbo.com/misc/sunday12.jpg

Which in real life looks like primar grey, hahah. Its the same as my box, but he has a hutch and top storage. I paid around 7600 for mine, and the cart was 500.

Jeff

That's like the same color Snap-On offered me, but declined it because it looked unfinished. I'm considering Chevelle Orange or Lime Green. If you watch American Hotrod on Discovery Channel, you'll see the colors I'm talking about.

Re: Show me your box!!!

ha.. thats funny you say that.. before I bought my box I was looking at a similar model snap on, and that is the first test IMO. Open the top drawer and sit in it. Well I did it to the snap on box, the entire drawer was sagging and I think it got ------- bent when I did that? lol... it didnt shut to smoothly after I did that.

Right now my top drawer is completely full and I can sit on the top of it with it all the way out. I've seen some really really nice snap on boxes and some pretty cool mac boxes, but I am so glad I bought a matco box, the quaility is just so much better.

I dont get matco here (canada) so I cant say for quality, some of the snapons are cheap there is more than 1 line. Mines the top model, krl I think. I dought your skinny ass could bend my draws but who knows. I like your box jeff, I wish I could get away with a smaller one so I could move it around but I have to take the top off just to get it under the hoist. :-[

Re: Show me your box!!!

well I wasnt sure what you were saying... I think a big box stationary is good to go and a huge cart for mobile. We have guys with boxes like my old one

And just push those fuckers around the shop... I think thats crazy

Re: Show me your box!!!

That's my dad's (basically mine now) old school snap on box on the left and my craftsman box on the right. I was actually in the auto class at the community college here in longview for about a quarter, but I ended up dropping out. I still got a pretty sweet deal on a bunch of tools and a tool box though.

Re: Show me your box!!!

Heres what I work with. 99% of the time that I do anything to any of my vehicles, or my friends...I go to the hobby shop on base. its a garage that has every tool you can think of for free that you can use. So I really have no reason to buy tools. I have mentioned a few times, i have colleceted most of my tools from swap meets and hand me down ----, and I have even come across decent sets of tools at garage sales. Like I said, I dont really have much tools, but I have what I need to get things done at home. sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, that kind of thing. 99% craftsman 1% snap-on.

I picked this box up at the scratch and dent sale at sears, ball bearing, heavy duty casters, it locks, with a nice key, has the latching type drawers, pretty nice for $200, what was wrong with it, the key was missing, which they replaced for free. $460 box, I paid $200 for it. :) Its full now, with tools, but im gonna fill it up some more, hopefully shortly. ;) -before i go to japan. :P
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg

I also have another set as my "junkyard kit" its one of those carry case kits, 120 piece or someshit, i have a few cheap screw drivers and a pair of pliers, its perfect for when i go to the junkyards.

they are always having those sales. just go in there and as someone. -i know its not a just one store thing to, my father-in-law told me about it...its nothing advertised, you just have to ask.

i have wanted some ratchiting wrences for a long time, they had a close out of the 7peice set for $35 (i think they have a 9 peice now) -they had a few on the shelf so i thought i could come back at the weekend (payday) those ------- things were gone...so im gonna go to a different sears this weekend. :P

Cadracer (ted's) Matco Tripple bank box..

Mines just a tad taller and a tad deeper (had to get a bigger box than ted!) However he has probably about 3 times as many tools and a sidelocker..

And his is paid off :-X
