Short throw shifters are nice.. but Honda transmissions (ones in EFs) are garbage. I've broken numerous shift forks because they just cna't take the force of you jamming it into gear so fast.

But, during the time they work.. they're great. I have one on my EF right now. ;D

this is a ZC transmission, dunno how it differs by the way like the "forum nazi" bit ;D
I was thinking if anyone knows of a link to a "how to" section for short shifters even on another honda.. the guy i bought it off (ebay) is saying he reccomends a professional installation ... im doubting this, im sure it looks like it can be done in minutes

A $17 dollar short shifter will do one of two things.
-Crack off in your hand when your shifting *OR*
----- up your tranny.
All you can do is hope it cracks off first. IMO I would save yourself the trouble and make a cool keychain out of it. My $0.02

crack one off in my hand, i was pissed $17bucks wasted

fucked up tranny? been there too x2 (and blamed for another one) i blew up an Si tranny, no short shifter. killed second in an HF tranny (250K miles and dont like 7500rpm shifts? ::)) no short shifter there either. and i to thought both those were funny (well not when i had to drive the HF tranny after killing the Si). didnt get a short shifter till my last tranny (Si tranny after the HF)...

I just put in an OBX Racing shifter... so very nice is all I can say. Installation was a little tricky at first, but turned out real easy. Just get under the car and remove the PIN (with NUT) and just take out the whole shift linkage and work on it right side up instead of upside down :) Take out the center console, and remove all the rubber boots.

BTW Dustin, I think you are really punching too hard or something... I've never had that bad of luck.

Re:short shifter

Short shifters and this myth of ------- up trannies is bullshit, the throw is still the same, it doesnt hurt the tranny at all.

The reason you guys are ------- your trannies up, is you dont know how to shift, and L3 trannies are weak as hell.

I've had a short shifter in every CRX I've owned, and I bang my ------- gears everyday..

Oooo.. Right, I forgot, Mr. Papadakis. I should rev match while I'm upshifting. I wish I could be in your driving class.. "Quarter Mile Classics: How to look like a dumbass in 30 seconds or less." Fool.

It's a FACT that the trannys are weak as ----.
