Well, alot of you may know I do have a race car, with a built engine and such.. And I have been putting it off and off, for this entire year. I no longer can afford it. Bills are stacking up and I need to liquidate my go fast parts. I have no desire to have a drag race car, my street car is more than adequate for my needs. Drag racing has never been a big deal to me anyways, anyone can drive in a straight line, anyone can build a 10 sec car... that ---- is no brainier stuff. The only thing that I was trying to prove, was that I could do a 10 sec car, with a 10 grand budget and still be D-series. Which I probably could, but I know how I act.. and lets say I got it done, It would probably be fine for a season, then something would blow up, tranny take a ----, break some axles.. Something, then I would get really pissed off because the lack of tuning with zdyne and upgrade to AEM, then.. spend more and more money on the chassis, then what would I have? a big empty pocket. So I honestly don’t think I would ever stop spending money on it. I look at Nick, and the guy cannot stop spending money on his car... I look at beau, and he is just in the early stages of this process, but he will end up just like him... Money money money, car parts car parts etc etc.. I'm ------- selling out! I'm going to take a fatty loss, I don’t care... Time for change 8)

I have well over 3 grand in this engine. If I get $2000 out of it I'll be happy. The engine has only break in miles on it roughly 500 miles, and 5 1/4 mile passes at low boost.

The block alone has about 1000 bucks in it.. Not including parts,

I'd like to get 2000 grand, for a long block, and maybe if I'm nice I'll throw in some ---- ;)

Sorry to hear you go. I know what you mean though. I have been trying to cut back ever since I started, but it's addicting. I can't stop spending money on something that will never pay itself off. I know it's a waist of money and I still do it. ::) I guess I don't have a lot of other hobbies so I decided to wasit all my money on this.


With that out of the way, to bad that clutch won't fit my tranny. :'( What else ya got? ;D

Jeff, I can completely relate to this, as you know...

There is no end in sight in the quest for 1/4 mile times and speed. The technology in this area also moves at a pace that no wallet can keep up with hardly. Once you get to where you wanted to be, its already Old School. :(

I am certain you will have fun in motorsports, perhaps in a different way though.

first of all, you aren't selling out. you still have another crx. selling out would be getting an suv and talking ---- about racers. anyways, you are just realizing that hitting 10's isn't as important as other things in life(eating, having a place to sleep, etc.). also, i am sure that your stuff will sell quickly. i know i must have read a bunch of post like "i have five thousand bucks can somebody tell me what to spend it on." ----... if i had the money i would buy your stuff. maybe if you sell the whole car on ebay somebody might buy it for a lot of money. well...good luck. also, keep HMT alive! peace

I really want the lenso's how big is 25 inch? wil that even fit in my wheel wells? 92 civic hatch.... I wont have the cash for 2 weeks tho, I get paid tomorrow, but its all getting spent on bills and crappy crap, if they arent too big I will definatley work somthing out with you.

Hey Jeff..I feel ya man.
I would be very happy with a CRVTEC in my daily driver.....
And I to am beginning to spend a bit to much money...I was gonna go all ghetto with my setup with a BOSCH BOV, but i got me a brand new one...it was 110 bucks, but stil it was 5 times more expensive than the bosch and I got me a brandnew turbonetics wastegate :-\ with springs and flanges that was at 300 bucks.There goes my budget hehehe.
I got most of the other stuff for free the turbo and intercooler I got for free. the injectors were in my budget tjust 75 bucks. But i know what u mean and I can't stop it hehehe After the holiday I will buy me a new CRX 2nd gen for 900 bucks with a ZC in it and start with that...I hope I won't spend to much.
Do you think i could drive around on the street with your build engine???

thats cool jeff, lol, if i were in U.S then i would buy your block, but doing some math yesterday, it will cost me 3500 canadian so i might as well build up my own ZC i can get good deals on pistons and rods here.

Hey there Jeff, sorry to hear that you are pullin' out of the race ZC, was looking forward to seeing what you'll produce with that mug all prepped up. With all that aside, I am very interested in your tach. It's in good shape right, no dings n such. If that's the case, I'll buy it, got cash ready, I'll even paypal. If you gots a pic that's be nice, but if it works and has the wires and it's autometer I'll take it! =P If's it's not autometer, I might still buy it. But lemme know!

Jeff, how streetable do you think the motor is? I was just about to start ordering parts to build the motor in my 88 si, but if you feel that it's streetable enough, I may be able to scrape the cash together to pick it up. I guess it's mainly the cams that I am curious about, being that they are custom grinds.

The engine would be just fine on the street.. funny, I was just talking to the guys at work a min ago about those cams, they are a tad agressive for the street. But if you dont mind a high or lopy idle they will be fine. Plus I never really had the chance to adjust them, so they could be better... So I will throw in a extra set of stock cams and stock ZC head with the 2grand package..
