Sell out... My little Rant
 

Well, alot of you may know I do have a race car, with a built engine and such.. And I have been putting it off and off, for this entire year. I no longer can afford it. Bills are stacking up and I need to liquidate my go fast parts. I have no desire to have a drag race car, my street car is more than adequate for my needs. Drag racing has never been a big deal to me anyways, anyone can drive in a straight line, anyone can build a 10 sec car... that ---- is no brainier stuff. The only thing that I was trying to prove, was that I could do a 10 sec car, with a 10 grand budget and still be D-series. Which I probably could, but I know how I act.. and lets say I got it done, It would probably be fine for a season, then something would blow up, tranny take a ----, break some axles.. Something, then I would get really pissed off because the lack of tuning with zdyne and upgrade to AEM, then.. spend more and more money on the chassis, then what would I have? a big empty pocket. So I honestly don’t think I would ever stop spending money on it. I look at Nick, and the guy cannot stop spending money on his car... I look at beau, and he is just in the early stages of this process, but he will end up just like him... Money money money, car parts car parts etc etc.. I'm ------- selling out! I'm going to take a fatty loss, I don’t care... Time for change 8)

I have well over 3 grand in this engine. If I get $2000 out of it I'll be happy. The engine has only break in miles on it roughly 500 miles, and 5 1/4 mile passes at low boost.

The block alone has about 1000 bucks in it.. Not including parts,

I'd like to get 2000 grand, for a long block, and maybe if I'm nice I'll throw in some ---- ;)

Remeber dont low ball the admin, he might get pissed :-X

Sorry to hear you go. I know what you mean though. I have been trying to cut back ever since I started, but it's addicting. I can't stop spending money on something that will never pay itself off. I know it's a waist of money and I still do it. ::) I guess I don't have a lot of other hobbies so I decided to wasit all my money on this.


With that out of the way, to bad that clutch won't fit my tranny. :'( What else ya got? ;D

Jeff, I can completely relate to this, as you know...

There is no end in sight in the quest for 1/4 mile times and speed. The technology in this area also moves at a pace that no wallet can keep up with hardly. Once you get to where you wanted to be, its already Old School. :(

I am certain you will have fun in motorsports, perhaps in a different way though.

yeah hobbies always get boring man, especially when you work on cars all day long..

are you just getting outta honda's or outta anything to do with cars? sorry to hear that.

hope u get some money for the ZC cause i know thats a badass built motor.

first of all, you aren't selling out. you still have another crx. selling out would be getting an suv and talking ---- about racers. anyways, you are just realizing that hitting 10's isn't as important as other things in life(eating, having a place to sleep, etc.). also, i am sure that your stuff will sell quickly. i know i must have read a bunch of post like "i have five thousand bucks can somebody tell me what to spend it on." ----... if i had the money i would buy your stuff. maybe if you sell the whole car on ebay somebody might buy it for a lot of money. well...good luck. also, keep HMT alive! peace

I know someone who WANTS that engine... dunno what his timeframe on money is, though.

I get back to Asheville the 4th, and get drunk at his house that night... I'll let you know.
