Self tinting windows
Who here has done it? I am to cheap to pay the 200 at a local shop(although quality work) and would rather order a pre cut kit from tintkits.com, i think for 60 dollars its worth a try, and the solar guard tint is the same stuff they use at the pro shop.

Re: Self tinting windows
if you dont know what your doing you can expect to mess up at least 2 pieces of tint so you would need 2-3 kits and by that time youll have as much into it as taking it somewhere :S

Re: Self tinting windows
i have done it on my last car and if you take your time it will turn out decent. shops around here only charge like $100 to tint all windows so i might just take it in next time. give it a shot

If someone wants to sponsor me I'll do a full write up. I used to work at a tint shop. 92-95 coupe is the test piece.

Re: Self tinting windows
I did the side window's last summer with the $15 stuff at parts stores. After a few practice sheets and using lots of soapy water it came out perfect. Still holding up a year later.

Re: Self tinting windows
I actually just did a few windows on the rearside of my parents home with some solar guard stuff i had laying around, i followed every tip i had read and watched in diy videos and it came out perfect, the bathroom windows now have a mirror like appearance from the rear of our home.

you know what they say. Tintin aint easy. LOL IM SO FUNNY.
but seriously, its not as easy as it looks. If you are gonna try doing it, just don't do it outside where its windy. I=retarded |
Re: Self tinting windows
The cleanliness is key, but the key to keeping the cleanliness clean is the process. (I think I just confused a couple noobs) >:D
