He can't be a Ron Paul nutswinger, because we don't make arguments for the government trying to protect us from ourselves.

seatbelts aren't annoying if you figure out how to adjust them to fit you, tall/short/anorexic/500lbs, they'll fit you, cept maybe the latter. i've personally seen people get hit pulling out of a driveway, not even driven 20ft, with no belt on, and get fucked up hardcore. it takes 2 seconds to pull it over and lock it in the buckle, it's well worth your face not going through the winsheild, or the dash halfway up past your knees

Its my choice. Bottom line. If I want to go out and put a bullet in my head that is my choice. Just like putting on a seatbelt. For the most part I always where mine. But I will be god damed if someone is going to tell me that I have to wearing one. God damn hippy liberal lawmakers. Just to make a revenue.

Ok my vent is over.

Re: seat belt tickets

Last I heard (which wasn't long ago, they enjoy my company in court) the seatbelt tickets here in alabama are $10. We can be pulled over for only not having a seatbelt, happened to me.

I used to drive without it. After being slammed into a pole at 60-65mph and having half my face rubbed off, bleeding, and numb from the airbag, I didn't learn, When a dipshit in a dumptruck cut me off on the highway with about a 40-50mph difference in speed, while i was in my crx, and only vaguely remember being in my car after the accident with some warm liquid running down my face, eyes closed, and people talking, then waking up in the hospital, I decided if I'm going to drive a shitbox CRX, I could at least wear my damn seatbelt.

I disagree with ticketing for it, but like ifly said...it's kinda dumb not to. Especially if you're one of the many people here driving small tincan hondas without airbags. I got lucky and since my legs were pressed against the clutch/brake, it just kinda vaulted my body into the roof of the car, where the rearview mirror cut a 20-30 stitch gash across my forehead and top of my head (lucky I didn't go through the windshield), and somehow I got cut on my eyelid (thank god not my eye), and my mouth. I know a lot of people don't like seatbelts, and whatever it's your thing and I'm not in a place to say you should, but it's definitely a wise thing. I could have easily been hurt a helluva lot more and quite possibly blind or dead, and after that incident I realized that comfort isn't worth your life.

So when will they start writing tickets for being fat and unhealthy? When will they start writing tickets for being dumb? When are they going to start making people exercise and give them tickets if they don't?? :3

Not wearing a seatbelt should be a decision I can make on my own. The police/government should NOT force me to wear it and punish me if I don't.

I wear my seat belt about 75% of the time. Sometimes I just don't remember and sometimes I just don't feel like having nylon wrapped around my body while I drive. :1
