well i got about a block away from my house to come to a stop light. i notice a cop gets behind me and starts typing on his computer. as soon as the light turns he turns on the cherries and pulls me over. im like.....wtf....first time i truley hadn't done anything and got pulled over. so he comes up to the door and i take off my seatbelt to go to the glove to get all my ----. i asked him what i did, and he looks at me and said....you didn't have your seatbelt on....i was like bullshit. i told him i took it off to get the ---- out of the glove and he didnt buy it. he started giving me a ---- load a attitude. i was like wtf. comes back and gives me two seatbelt tickets for me and my brother in the car. my brother never had his seatbelt off the entire time. i was like dude wtf he never had his seatbelt off. and he was like bla bla bla im a ------- fatass pig. he was like if you give me any more attitude i will make sure you get the highest fines and you better bring your check book because i could make this a $2000 plus ticket. i was ------- so pissed off dude i wanted to beat the ---- out of the cop.

so now i am going to go to court and pleading not guilty because that was the biggest pile of ---- i have ever seen.

lets say i plead not guilty and they find me guilty in the end.....whats the worst that could happen???

anyone else have a similar situation, and got away with pleading not guilty?

i have no money for this ---- and someone told me that i have to pay court fees now that are like $250 or something....for ------- TRAFFIC COURT!!!!! WTF is that all about?!?!?

just let me know what you guys think. thanks

I don't understand seatbelt laws. If I want to drive around and take the risk of getting into an accident and dieing because I'm not wearing my seatbelt, WTF does that have to do with ANYBODY else?? I'm not putting anybody else in danger or making it unsafe for anybody else. They might as well ban smoking, alcohol, greasy food, cats, dogs, planes, trains and automobiles while they're at it. ::)

Out here they don't enforce seatbelt laws so they won't pull you over just for that, but if they pull you over for speeding or something and you're not wearing your seatbelt they will write you up for it. ------- gay..... :3

BTW, your word against the cops. You're not getting away with it.

Here in WI they are $10, and the cop cannot pull you over for not having a seatbelt on.

if you've ever seen an accident where a person has been ejected from the car, you'd never ride in a car without a seatbelt. I seen a lady die on my way home from work one night, she lost control of her truck and flipped it about an 1/8 mile ahead of me, I got out of my car and didnt see anyone inside, then saw her body maybe 30 or 40 yards down the freeway, sickest ---- i've ever seen. Its stupid to not wear a seatbelt.

seatbelts aren't annoying if you figure out how to adjust them to fit you, tall/short/anorexic/500lbs, they'll fit you, cept maybe the latter. i've personally seen people get hit pulling out of a driveway, not even driven 20ft, with no belt on, and get fucked up hardcore. it takes 2 seconds to pull it over and lock it in the buckle, it's well worth your face not going through the winsheild, or the dash halfway up past your knees

Its my choice. Bottom line. If I want to go out and put a bullet in my head that is my choice. Just like putting on a seatbelt. For the most part I always where mine. But I will be god damed if someone is going to tell me that I have to wearing one. God damn hippy liberal lawmakers. Just to make a revenue.

Ok my vent is over.

Re: seat belt tickets

Last I heard (which wasn't long ago, they enjoy my company in court) the seatbelt tickets here in alabama are $10. We can be pulled over for only not having a seatbelt, happened to me.

I used to drive without it. After being slammed into a pole at 60-65mph and having half my face rubbed off, bleeding, and numb from the airbag, I didn't learn, When a dipshit in a dumptruck cut me off on the highway with about a 40-50mph difference in speed, while i was in my crx, and only vaguely remember being in my car after the accident with some warm liquid running down my face, eyes closed, and people talking, then waking up in the hospital, I decided if I'm going to drive a shitbox CRX, I could at least wear my damn seatbelt.

I disagree with ticketing for it, but like ifly said...it's kinda dumb not to. Especially if you're one of the many people here driving small tincan hondas without airbags. I got lucky and since my legs were pressed against the clutch/brake, it just kinda vaulted my body into the roof of the car, where the rearview mirror cut a 20-30 stitch gash across my forehead and top of my head (lucky I didn't go through the windshield), and somehow I got cut on my eyelid (thank god not my eye), and my mouth. I know a lot of people don't like seatbelts, and whatever it's your thing and I'm not in a place to say you should, but it's definitely a wise thing. I could have easily been hurt a helluva lot more and quite possibly blind or dead, and after that incident I realized that comfort isn't worth your life.

Re: seat belt tickets

So when will they start writing tickets for being fat and unhealthy? When will they start writing tickets for being dumb? When are they going to start making people exercise and give them tickets if they don't?? :3

Not wearing a seatbelt should be a decision I can make on my own. The police/government should NOT force me to wear it and punish me if I don't.

I wear my seat belt about 75% of the time. Sometimes I just don't remember and sometimes I just don't feel like having nylon wrapped around my body while I drive. :1

Re: seat belt tickets

------- cops are so ------- crooked. i got there at 8:30am to wait until 10:30 JUST TO HAVE MY NAME CALLED TO PLEAD GUILTY OR NOT so i ended up pleading not guilty, and the bitch told me if i plead guilty she would ask the cop to take one of the tickets off and it would be JUST $185. I was like.....well ---- if its going to be $370 for both if i dont win the trial then ill do that for sure. she comes back and said that the cop denied taking one of the tickets off and that either i plead guilty and pay the $370 or i go to trial. so i said ---- that im going to trial. so i wait and wait, finally after everyone was gone and i was the last person in the entire ------- place he calls me up and we go to trial. the ------- cop starts pulling so much ---- out of his mouth the pile gets taller than i am. im almost 6ft. so after i told my story and he told his the judge found me guilty for both accounts and charged me for $300....and the prosecutor that sits there all day ------- smiled at the officer when they won the trial.....i almost ------- lost it. 300 ------- dollars of my hard earned cash has to go to a greedy ------- government that already taxes my hard earned money by almost %30. ---- them all. I HONESTLY hope and pray to God, if there is one, that this mother fucker burns alive for being such a crooked cop.

and there was this guy in front of me that had a civic or something that had clear rear lights and previously got pulled over for having clear turning signals or something...well 3 years later he gets pulled over again, but he changed the light in back from being white to amber, even though he still had altezzas or waterver. he as well goes to trial and pleaded not guilty. in the end after all this arguing between the both of them.....he was AWARDED a handsome fine of over $550 for the ticket!!!! i almost lost it right then and there when i heard that.....sooooo ------- bullshit that you have to pay that much of a ------- fine for a ------- $5 bulb. ---- all of those cops. ------- pigs. i felt so bad for this kid....again the prosecutor winked at the officer that issued the ticket. ------- crooks.

i got caught with a quarter ounce of some flame nugget a while ago, and i payed $250 for a lawyer and got everything taken off of my record......

so i guess its worse for someone to have white lights in the back of the car/and or not have a seatbelt on....then have a quarter ounce of weed on you....WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO!!!! i probably wouldve had to pay less if i wouldve blown the cop away.... :y :S

in washington its 101$, and they can pull you over just for that, i went to court just yesterday for no seat belt and two deffect exhaust tickets. all different times all going to work, i work nights so i get pulled over in the mix of them trying to find drunk drivers, i was able to get out of all three tickets contesting it. saved myself 400$ well worth it just because some ------- cop wanted to give me a ticket.

Re: seat belt tickets

In South Carolina, it's a flat $25. It USED TO BE... they could only give u a ticket for it if they pulled you over for another offense, and happened to notice you weren't wearing it.. NOW, they can pull u over for it. Funny story. The SAME DAY that law went into effect... Dec 10 a couple yrs ago, I got a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt. I was on a lonely highway, doing 75 in a 55 zone. I see a state trooper coming from the opposite direction. I slow down a little, but I my radar beeper thing went off and I knew he clocked me. When he pulled me over.. he asked if I knew why. I willingly said, "I was drivin a little over the limit, wasn't I?". He replies with.. Well, I don't know about that... but you weren't wearing your seatbelt! and I said.. WTF? U mean, u coulda got me for 20 over, and u give me a damn $25, no points, doesnt affect insurance ticket??? I didnt question his decision! Anyway.. it's a fucked up law. If I decide not to protect myself w/ a seat belt.. that's my decision. I pay insurance for a reason!
