Scion tC

Just wanted to get your opinion on this car. I know this is HMT but was looking to see if anyone might have had some experience with it. For the price I think its a good buy considering all of the goodies...

This car is not for me and is actually for a female driver. I would love to turbo it considering it does have a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine with 9.5:1 CR (160hp/163lbs-torque). 8) Just wanted to see what you guys think... I actually think it looks "aight"...

Tell me your thoughts.

*EDIT*: For the folks that dont know what it looks like...

Those TC's are probably my pic out of the Scion lineup . Not sure on how well the engine will do with an FI setup on it in stock form, but with some research I'm sure it could be done safely. You thinking of getting one?

I kind like them. :-\

Compare to a Civi Si and there really isn't much difference.

I also like the XB. :-[

Re:Scion tC

Yes it does have a TRD supercharger option for like $3000 but I think thats pretty damn worthless considering its only adding 40hp. If I had the option I'd just turbo the sucker or throw on a shot of nitrous.

Anyhow, I know it weighs like 3100-3200lbs. And yes thats one hell of a pig. It by far is not a performance or sporty car. But this again is for a FEMALE driver. I'd like to get the opinions of those who have driven it and see how it did.

The engine is the 4-cylinder! ;D Camry engine. In my book Toyota engines are very reliable and good engines...

Planning on test driving one in the near future...

the tc is the coupe buddy ;). My gf has one, i like the features and the looks overall, but it was only designed to look good. It has HORRIBLE visibility in every direction from the huge pillars, but is semi-fun to drive otherwise (mainly because the wheel is small and badass)

Just to let all of you know, the TRD supercharger only boosts it 4 psi out of the box. Hence only 40 additional horsepower. Up that ----.

Yes they are, that guy must be high or something. Subaru calls them H4, or H6 for the 6 cyl. They are flat and horizontally oposed for perfect balance.

I like the tC and also the xB. Toyota engines are awesome when it comes to reliability. I would buy it. I like the fact that this Scion line are made for the low end consumers, but they have a lot of features that other companies don't have on their low end cars. Like sunroof, cruise control, power windows, ++++. If Toyota is willing to sell as an option a supercharger and give you warranty with it, would tell us the engine can handle it. I saw one of these tC's at the dealer, and there is plenty of room for a nice turbo setup.

Re:Scion tC

That car doesn't look that bad. The front end looks real nice, but the back of the back window (that little chop off the back) is kinda bothering me. If honda was played out and someone was looking for something not so trendy to fix up, it'd be a good car. :-\

Boost, perfect execution of the [RS Mode on/} lol

I found this for the Scion tC:

Performance
0 - 60 mph [secs] 7.4
0 - 100 mph [secs] 20.9
1/4 mile [secs at mph] 15.7 at 88.0
Top Speed [mph] 127
Lateral acceleration [g] 0.81
Fuel Economy [City/Hwy in mpg] 22 / 30

what about the si?

I'd take a civic si hands down. So the stock motor is shitty. What stock motor in a civic isn't shitty that comes here to the US? It's a honda! Swap it! Just get a K20A and then how does that Scion tC look then with that supercharge option at 3000 plus the sticker price? The Si may be a lil' porker but what new car isn't these days! Hell look at how small the Mini Cooper is and how much that still weighs.
