Re:School sucks
Actually all of you are 100% wrong. I have a GED mainly because i found HS to be alot of bullshit. I'm in a CC mainly b/c i needed to pick up a few credits before transfering to a full 4 year school. I took calc, engineering physics, and english 1 my first semester. I would suggest getting a GED asap and spending some time at a local community college and either getting your degree from them or moving on to a 4 year school. Highschool sucks in comparison to even a CC. Clarifying once again GED doesn't always mean under qualified, sometimes its an alternative route. If you are 16 and a HS drop out with a GED yes getting a good paying job will be very difficult. But if you take the GED and move on with it to get some sort of degree via a tech school or CC you should be able to make a moderate salary and not have much problem getting the pay you deserve

Re:School sucks
hahaha. i know for a fact you are speaking out of your ***. Hey, you went to college and have a degree in engineering but you didnt finish taking high school science were not going to hire you . I've spoken to numerous people about my decision and all it matters if you have a diploma from a college. Have you ever heard of a boss asking what you got in the english class you took the second semester of your freshman year of college
I'm going to borrow a quote from Armegeddon...when the general is in the office and saying shooting a nuc at the astroid will work the NASA guy says "I studies with the president's advisor at MIT, I wouldnt really trust a man who got a C- in Astrophysics...."
If you have a diploma saying you are a compident(sp) person in a certain profession they will hire you. Knowing you took some walk through of World History in the 11th grade will not thrill anyone looking to hire you for a profession. If you honestly think that, you are a moron.

Re:School sucks
my fiance is 19 and will get her bachelors degree from cal state fullerton in two more semesters, she did the california equivilancy exam (GED)
I on the other hand graduated high school, with honors, in AP and international Baccalaureate classes. I've been in college since fall 2001 and I'm not graduating any time soon.
which one of us are they going to look at better?
Travis, IF you don't go back, get your GED and go register for community college, you'll be fine. If you do go back, finish, and you'll be fine. Just do one of the two, you'll be better off having gone to college then having gone to highschool
