Roomate problems...

7 Attachment(s)
So here's the deal, lately I have been having some problems with the girl who I rent from(downstairs of her house). In december when I moved in, she made up a "roommate agreement" contract stating a bunch of random rules... I will post pics of said agreement. Within a week of me living here, she did stuff that was specifically stated in the contract as non permissable. Now, I am moving out. She handed me a bill for 275 dollars. 200 was to cover the rest of the thirty days notice i was supposed to give, other 75 is for random bullshit. Anyways, I need someone to tell me if she can actually use this against me in court if she decided to take me to court for this sum... here is said contract...sorry for shitty pics, cell phone cam ftl

---- it, move out anyways and let her take you to court, they prob wont see a matter under $300, and if they do it will prob cost here more to take you there. just keep a copy of her demand for 275 to prove it was only for 275

Pay if you are contractually obligated to do so. If you think that she broke rules and you shouldn't have to pay the whole $275 or any of it. Tell her, tell her why, and try to have an adult conversation about it. If she disagrees and states you still owe her $275, tell her you don't agree and you are unwilling to pay that amount and she will have to do whatever she needs to, to get the money she believes she is owed. Most likely the worst case scenario would be a trip to small claims court. If shes dumb enough to hire a lawyer, don't lawyer up. You are talking about a small claims court case and getting a lawyer involved is just retarded. An hour or two with a lawyer would be more than the $275 so as long as she doesn't get the money, you should be relatively pleased.

give her the 275, then come back and steal 275$ worth of ---- from her house O0

like he said, the court fees alone would probably keep her from sueing you

I think in south dakota you can sue for as little as $20 and the court fees are only about $40. Id say ---- it and go to court worst that happens is you have to pay $275.
