Review: OBX Intake manifold for 88-91 crx
Ok so i bought one of the piles of ---- of ebay for 150 plus shipping. well i test fit it and it hits the brake booster and none of the sensors will fit without modification to the wire lengths.
ok no problem i took it to the machine shop and got it chopped shorter and a new end welded on ($40) and soldered extensions for all the sender wires. then bought all new vaccume hose and coolant hose.(b/c stock isnt long enuf.) installed it and found that one sensor dosent fit, only 3 bolt holes line up on the throttle body(comes with the wrong gasket) and where it bolts to the head the runners interfere with the bolts. so i ground down the bolts to fit, dented the runners a bit to fit the bolts and torqued the tb on good.
finally after all this the fuel rail bolt holes dont line up so i drilled new ones and used some new bolts.
then i start it up, after fixing a minor coolant leak and a severly cut finger (damn slippery hose clamps) the idle surges and it whistles and backfires a bit.
The piece of ---- gasket to the head that came with it didnt seal. this was partially my fault because i didnt clean the surface off very well and ripped the gasket a little in one of the 30 test fits i had to do.
tomorrow i will update with what its like to drive with the thing on. it better be worth it lol. im just hell bent on getting this thing to work. i am pretty sure its that gasket thats ------- it up.
overall score: -1 , you could prob get a volkswagon intake manifold to fit with less modification than this one, haha

OMG you poor poor guy. That doesn't sound like much fun. When I run into ---- like that, I get in the mood for inventing/reinventing cuss words. I don't know how you managed to go through all that BS, but damn. Give that SSautochrome guy some shitty feedback and maybe some hate mail.
How the hell can they make ---- like that? I was actually thinking about those manifolds a while back. I just thought "How bad can they screw up an intake manifold? It should be at least better than stock."
I guess not?

I had a venom intake manifold that fit like *** too. The flange interfered with the coolant outlets on the head, and there was no provisions for half the sensors. I know it says "race only", but jesus.
