So.. I was reading an article in a Canadian Magazine about that bill 241 (now changed to bill 20). Police here are doing everything possible to get street racing off the street and to a legal track. Well... I read that recently police were found waiting at the entrance to mosport (a LEGAL track here in ontario) giving out tickets to people with exhaust systems and too much lowering.

WTF tell us to "Take it to the track" so we do and get busted again.. cops are the biggest pricks!@

I agree with you completely, opp is bullshit. Well so are the locals, they now hide in bus stops with radar guns. That is beside the point. As for the noise pollution if you know your quieter than a stock motorcycle then you can get off no prob, and as for lowering your car, if your tires don't have cuts on them from your fenders then they can't give you a ticket either.

As it stands now my car is completely legit with a turbo. I passed all smog tests for ontario, and all certification with ALL my mods. I have all my vacuum lines under the hood connected, no gay filter on the valve cover. My car is lowered but only 1.75" which means I have about 3/4" clearence on my fenders. I have a legit cat and muffler but with no reasonator. I obey all the noise pollution laws within residential areas with my stereo. But I get hassled all the time. Why because I'm young, and because of both jealousy and stereotypes. That is bullshit, utter bullshit.

The things that piss me off about the cops is that they wait outside the strips for importfest, but for the hotrod days you couldn't find a cop if you shot a gun in the air. If they want to play like bitches be fair to everyone. Don't alienate one group because you have a problem with them.

not me....i have never once been let off for ----..i dont know why...but never...even when they question me about things they end up taking my ass to jail and i have to get out on bail...but that only happens maybe once in a blue moon. cops just dont like me because of the family im in...majority of my uncles and (male)cousins are drug dealers or gang bangers around here and lots of cops know that...and they know im related to them but they know i dont do that ---- like they do...im the odd ball i guess..but its ok in this situation. all in all...cops never let me go. they always let my friend aaron go for some strange reason!

yeah, a lot of cops are jerks. The reason why cops are pulling you guys over is this...now days more and more teenagers are getting drunk,high, whatever and still driving. its very sad but if your young..there is a good chance your getting lumped in. Police Officers are just trying to keep our streets safe. MOST of them could care less what you drive. But thats here in Texas where we still punish people when they acually do something wrong, and not bitch about emissions or cars being too low. dumb ---- like that.

most cops i know have small man complexes. they finally are in a position of power and you damn well bet they're gunna use it. i don't care if some cops are nice, i don't need or appreciate some punk kid (23-30) telling me what to do. even though i'm 20 myself. ---- them, if i was an old man i would be even more angry.

like i said before i don't care if some cops are cool or nice, if they're trying to control me ---- them. they don't deserve to be called sir or ma'am. they deserve to be shot, and it'll happen one day

No cop is trying to control you..if you are being pulled over..you did something agaist the law. No cop deserves to be shot. thats acually pretty sad..we have cops out trying to put real criminals in jail, and you think cops should be shot. Who does everyone call when they get in trouble?

i don't call anyone. cops can't help you. they can only clean up the mess. if i kicked down your door and shot you and took some of the finer things in your house... what are the police going to do? try and catch me. the deed has been done. maybe its just cause i live in a smaller down, but the cops here don't have anything real to do. all they do is harrase.

haha.. I agree with random.. There are times when I get pulled over that I am doing something wrong.. Does that excuse the profiling that goes on every other day.. Cops around here have nothing to do but write traffic tickets.. it really must suck to be them.. Maybe if I started a gang they could spend thier time trying to catch us and leave the import guys alone..

HA! let me tell you a little story...


I had JUST bought my rex from a friend. I had it for less then 1 week. It was STOCK outside. Red, stock corner lenses, rims, height everything outside was 100% OEM. I was on the way back from my friends house at around 11pm. I passed two cops sitting in a school parking lot, doing 40km/hr (legal limit in school zones). They both pull out and follow me for around 5 min. All the while I am staying in the speed limits. They BOTH nail the gas go flying by me atleast 80 n a 60 zone (km/h) and slow down. Then the slow down even more, go behind me and flash the lights and pull me over. Both get out and one flashes his flashlight RIGHT in my face and says is this your car son. All the while the other guy is walking around my car. I have temp plates on the window (where they are supposed to go) and the correct paper work or sales. I explain where i got it, from whom. Then they ask me if they can search the car for drugs and alcohol. I said fine, waste your time. They do, and promptly leave. WTF if thats not harassment nothing is!

Another time, my friend who owns a 2001 Neon R/T is 100% stock inside and out! a cop pulls him over and tries to give him a ticket for dual exhaust on a neon. My friend says no, thats stock, thats how they come. The cops like no its not,dont lie, neons dont have dual exhausts. My friend goes ITS AN RT ! hes like.. oh.. have a nice day, what a dink! LOL I hate cops.

another thing. dont give me that keep the streets safe b/s from high/drunk drivers. Old people in crappy pick ups and mini vans do it too! a CAR doesnt mean he/she is high/drunk!!!

I live In Dallas,Texas and I have never been pulled over for stupid reasons, or been harassed.and im part mexican.I don't even know anyone that gets harassed by cops. Cops dont even really care about our local street races. haha. I dunno, I guess yall have ------- cops overthere. its a whole other country over here.

texas is such a better place than the west coast. its in the area of land between the west and east coasts called AMERICA. too many liberals on the coasts. you're right its a totally different country. i would love to live in a place like texas, but i love the area in the NW. for hutning fishing ext... we'll just have to keep fighting the liberals

There is a major reason why cops alienate the Importer 'race' class. Alot of government officials feel more threatened by 'us' then by 'american' dragsters because on average in the US, more accidents involve rice cars then domestic muscle cars.
These statistics mixed with movies like F&F make us a pinned target, just have to write your local officials to complain.

it all depends where you live, i live in a small town now where cops have nothing better to do than pull you over for nothing, i think its funny, they pull u over look inside, maybe search and they look like a dumbfuck.

i lived in flint michigan for 6 months. biggest ghetto ever, the cops wouldnt come out for anything short of murder. i got 5g in damage/---- stolen from my truck, i got reverted to an answering machine to record my problem. it spit out my ins # and hung up. done deal.

that place was scary, even if you did have a gun it didnt matter there were more of them with guns. and they wont hesitate to shoot b/c they know the cops wont get there for 45+ mins and they can get away.

i mean they were robbing college students for 5-$25, you know they have no ------- money.

cops can be good and bad, i like having them around now, you just have to be smart and not drive high or fucked up. a good part of a bigger city is the best i think, not too many cops but enuf to come when u need em.

I don't know about yankee laws, but in Ontario cops require a warrant to search your car, with the exception of a ride program, and only under the circumstance where they beleive you are under the influence.

If a cop pulls you over and wants to search your car for drugs on the spot, ask to see some paperwork. Most city cops have very little power, and really like to use it.

Ya realized they need a warrent. But for me I KNOW there's nothing of the sort in my car. So I just let them. If I'm difficult about it im sure i can get a ticket for my exhaust/stereo all the above so I just let them waste their time. Either way.. they are asses!

Here im america they do have to have a warrant to search the car unless they have probable cause to search the car they will ask you if it is OK to search your car first and if you say no they will usually call a K9 unit in and they will be able to search because if you say no they have probable cause because by saying no it is obvious you are hiding something

if my car was stock and i knew there was NO WAY I could get a ticket for anything on or in it i would say no just to piss them off for pulling me over for no reason. But its not stock so I agree.
