Rap of the 90's (JR High): A tribute to the 808
I'm making an old skool rap cd with songs of the early-mid 90's. It's gonna be called "A tribute to the 808". Here's what I have so far. Add some, or hop on Limewire and I'll take you back.
EPMD- Crossover Digable Planets- Cool like that Blacksheep- You can get with this Pharcyde- Passing me by Ahmad- Back in the day Dj Quick- You'z a gangsta Geto boys- My mind's playing tricks on me Nice and Smooth- Sometimes I ryhme slow Pete Rock & CL Smooth- They reminise Gang Starr- Mass Appeal Skeelo- I wish I was a little bit taller MC Breed- Ain't no future in your front N2Deep- Back to the hotel Concious Daughters- Funky expedition Timmy T- One more try (not rap, but a super 808 hit) Mark Morrison- Return of the mack (corny pop song, but it's got the 808 foe sho) .....discuss |
Re: Rap of the 90's (JR High): A tribute to the 808

Re: Rap of the 90's (JR High): A tribute to the 808
Stevie B IS some hot ----. I didn't mention it because I'm making this cd for my friend (the stealthmode dj) and it's already common knowledge that Stevie B is bomb. I'm looking into some Wrecks in effect- rump shaker at the moment.

I remember hooking the 808 up to the car and dropping bass while picking up my friends brother from school. O0 Note: I'm now getting into the Ice Cube-Really Doe after the perfection of my posse's on broadway suggested by Fook. :6 |

Re: Rap of the 90's (JR High): A tribute to the 808
I don't know if it counts but some A Tribe Called Quest.
I'm Housin' by EPMD is a good song too. |
Re: Rap of the 90's (JR High): A tribute to the 808
What about some tribe called quest from "Beats rhymes...." That cd is classic. Some Public Enemy "Can't do nothin'". Eric B and Rakim, it's a little older but nothing can touch Rakim. He's a god in my book. What about Biz or Digital Underground. :6 I'm preferably a east coast guy besides DIgital Underground. One things I know thats alittle newer is Goodie Mobs soul food. That ---- was it in basic training cause I had a bunch of GA and FL bro's in squad that knew all that stuff by heart. I miss those guys.
