ramhorn manifold
just curious as to what pieces i should be ordering if i am making a homemade ramhorn? i got a pretty good idea, just want to know how many 90's/45's/ whatever else i'll have to order so i get all the right ----. thanks for the help

Re:ramhorn manifold
Like 15 90's 2 45's and piece of straight pipe.
|
Re:ramhorn manifold
seriously?
|
Re:ramhorn manifold
12 90-deg bends... not 15... otherwise, yea, he's serious... hehe.
[edit] Maybe 13 bends if you want to have a 90 deg bend for your WG... but if you just go straight out, then only 12 are needed.[/edit] |
Re:ramhorn manifold
um, what the ---- is a ramhorn??
|
Re:ramhorn manifold
|
Re:ramhorn manifold
4 45's
12 90's and a little bit of straight section, good luck |

Re:ramhorn manifold
Ramhorn would be considered the Full-Race style
https://www.homemadeturbo.com/tech_p...l-length_P.jpg I have never made one of those, I know beau has made one, and we used it on Random-strikes car. The one I made for my gf's car looks like this. https://www.homemadeturbo.com/leia/turboek9.jpg |
Re:ramhorn manifold
yeah, those are very nice. i want something that will flow well, and that i don't have to just attach the wastegate to on ------- runner.
what did you use for leia's jeff? |
Re:ramhorn manifold
Right and I meant 15 90's
|
Re:ramhorn manifold
anyone want to make me one? ill pay!
|
Re:ramhorn manifold
2 45's
10 90's and some straight section, keep in mind the one I built is not a equal length manifold. I dont even think the FR/Ramhorn style manis are either. |
Re:ramhorn manifold
if u have some intelligence and arent all that lazy but are very cheap u buy 180 degree bends ;)
|
Re:ramhorn manifold
yeah, i don't expect it to be an exact equal length. they way i see it all four runners for the wastegate is better than just the one.

Re:ramhorn manifold
I hate to refer to honda-tech.com but this is to good of info to not pass it along.

damn, search PwN3s me ;D

Re:ramhorn manifold
I don't understand why people build these knockoff manifolds. Why don't you come up with your own design. It will stand out more and be more creative than the gayhorn played out manifold. :-\ Remember, keep the runners equal and just build around the collector and it will probably flow better than a manifold with 12 goddamn 90*
|
Re:ramhorn manifold
Fo real. And use a vagina flange, for god's sake.

---- man, you use whitey bends, i couldn't do that ----! |
Re:ramhorn manifold
No manifold is exaclty equal length.
|

---- man, you use whitey bends, i couldn't do that ----! My manifold is made out of regular schedule 40 90* bends and straight pieces. If you can cut and weld than you can make a manifold

You can make one yourself that is exactly equal length, you just need to take your time and measure

lol, newbieforces is gone forever. Those pics will show up when hell freezes over. where have you been ;) |
Re:ramhorn manifold
this might be kinda dumb but....i really like the way jeffs mani came out, and i really like the full-race style. but i noticed that full-race doesnt make a mani for d-series.....is there like a write-up out there that shows you how to make your own mani and what are the basic steps in doing it?

seriously build a collector, mount it on the turbo in the position you want it and the manifold will basically design itself around it. Its not that hard it just takes patience and its worth it in the end

Most people use schedule 40 which is 8 gauge. I personally just build a manifold out of this material and its way to ------- heavy. Next manifold I build is going to be 16 gauge and braced. Its your choice on what you want to use... |
Re:ramhorn manifold
i used 1.5" schedule 40 and the manifold wheights 20 ------- pounds. I hope the it will make the difference vs. a log mani that only wheights 5 pounds
