i dont have a problem with it.....but it dose get old...i seen it more used against dumb fucks then against black people...its just a word but some people get there lil e-feelings hurt...so i say temp ban then ban but only for actually calling a black person a nig..just my $.02

I have no idea why its "fun" or "cool" to be racist on this site...but that is the direction it has taken over time. I doubt we have recruited actually racists, most of the shitheads on this site wouldn't speak that way to any normal human in public but because they are behind the shield of the interweb, they let loose when they see others spouting off comments that really have no other motive than trying to fit in with the crowd.

The users should be able to police themselves honestly...obviously some cant fit with the program and those characters should be dealt with accordingly.

i think it's okay in moderation. Kind of like swearing. Saying ---- when you do something stupid is fine, but who wants to be the kid that used ---- 8 times in a sentence. Like i say ------ here and there as like an oh ---- word, but i like black people, got nothin against them. And i'm willing to be others feel the same way.

It was funny when josh did it because he always overstepped boundaries on purpose. Ever since the west coast/stevemode throw down its been lame, generic, off the shelf racism from high school kids.

I think slang terms are ok.. like Nukka.. and nig nog..lol However I hate racial debates on here. If people still want to be racial after all of these years, then they arent willing to accept what our country is, and stands for. I'd think most of the racial debaters on here aren't really racist. But moreso just like to argue.

My question is, where is the line drawn between racism and arguing on here? Sometimes people call another "a dumb ------" even if they're not black. So would this be considered racist? What about calling another nignog?

I think the morons who use the word every sentence are actually helping HMT. They're making it un-cool for others to use it in a humorous manner. The humorous manner was fun, and not serious, but now we all don't want to sound like the few dipshits who use it every post. In those few cases, I voted temp ban for overusing and making a word not funny anymore, much like the word "Lupis" after the humpty dance. Wait, lupis is kinda still funny.

Dropping the same names over and over is a sign that you can't offer a challenging verbal assault. The N bomb is no exception. A simple "nog" seems to be more funny than the full nig-nog at this point.

Like someone on another thread mentioned, when you're a member of a forum that has a post titled "happy ------ month" itdoesnt reflect well one the members regardless of internet anonymity.

Personally, I've been called a dirty spic plenty of times and that doesn't bother me......cause I'm not dirty :P :P :8

Bashing and racist comments are getting old on HMT. It carries into all sections even Classifieds.
It doesn't help if the mods are also the ones doing it and not controlling it.
I use a firefox script to which replaces curse/racey words. Temp fix, especially while at work. :y

Not that I'm ever leaving HMT, but it also limits the sites ability to grab sponsors. Could you imagine how some companies react (and have to) when a customer points out, "hey, I didn't realize you sponsor such a racist site". Or a magazine that decides not to post the website plug because it looks bad on them.

We're a close knit community, that is growing wether you like it or not, and you have to think about these things before the issue comes up.

It isn't something that bothers me too much.

The bothersome thing is people that just use it for no reason. It just sounds as dumb as anything else these annoying fucks say, racial or non.

seeing those comments once or twice is OKAY but not every freaking day. I am not sure if I am the only one to notice, but things are getting out of hand and it looks like a HATE forum.
I, personally think that the N word should be bannded from using since it causes too much attention and agurment. I am sure one or two of the black OG ;) are being driven away from this ----, no matter how much they say they "do not care", ppl can only deal with it so many times.

You can take a few punch in the face from buddies and laugh it off, but it`s no easy task when your getting punch every day.


oh BTW, NO, Ching chow whatever the ---- it is doesn`t bother me so i don`t really have a problem with it, in another way it brings me business ^-^

its about time someone with credibility on this site (jdavis) brings this up. I've commented on racism numerious times in posts but only replys were "---- you N lover". This post was really needed, thanks jd, not that racism wasnt terribly obvious before.

i know what i say does not carry much weight on this site but i havn't logged in, not even lurked for a good month because of some peoples attitudes on here. Its not always racism either, just the constant negative comments people make towards each other and e-battles going on in every other thread.

Pretty much. I walked away from my Engine Management Forum moderatorship because after I edited the post of the third n00b who annoyed me, to mock them, I realised I wasn't capable of doing my job here so *poof* I was gone for a year and a half. I don't want or need any position of authority, but I am trying to ------ the tone of things to come to the HMTers that are worth keeping but might get caught in the crossfire if they aren't given a heads up first because not all of them realise what a problem it has become.

I am, however, confident that 1.5 of the current posters to this thread are too stupid to pick up on this even after it has been spelled out, and will get their asses banhammered to rousing applause from the GD multitudes.

im such a newbie so i guess my opinion doesn't matter but...

the idea of having to ban whitey or honky has to come into play only because racism is the same in both directions... unless everyone here is white... which i know thats not true...

now the avatars with the American history X curb stomp... HAS TO GO ...

i know the movie was made by a black person but it was to show how stupid and how bad racism is... so to take the one clip in the movie that shows racism at its worst... is... STUPID...
