Default quick question for chevy truck owners

I have a 2005 chevy silverado. The check engine light came on pretty much exactly as the oil life went to 0% so I am assuming that's what caused the problem. I changed the oil then reset the oil life by doing the thing where you turn the key to on and pump the gas a few times. The check engine light is still on and im stuck on what to do. I would rather not take it into a dealer and have them charge me money to tell me that my oil needs changing. Anyone know how to reset the check engine light without a computer?

Extended cab? What you need to do is sell me the truck for $400.

Just kidding someone will know this. There's a trick to turning the ignition on, then off, then pumping the accelerator or brake so many times, then ignition on, or something like that. Someone knows.

Can't you scan the code and it will tell you if it's there because of the oil life or not? Then clear it

Go to most parts stores like vatozone, kragen, schuks, checker, oryles, and advance auto and they will scan it for you.
