Crazy. I'm in the process of doing mine as well (89 Hatch).

First time I ever pulled drums, I couldn't get them back on because I had the parking brake on, duh.

Then I replaced the pads and didn't have the bottoms lined up right. After I fixed that, they still wouldn't go on! Loosened the bleed screw and you can compress the pads a little by pushing the wheel cylinder (top center) together. From there, drum should slide back on. Need to adjust the clevis pin and you're good to go.

If you're like me though, the whole fucker was rusted to ---- and when I pulled the pads off one side, the adjuster lever was missing and the spring was broke. Ordered them from Honda and then when I went to bleed the system, the bleed screw broke off. So I got an EZ Out tool and broke that off from what remained of the bleed screw. So I took the wheel cylinder off to drill out the bleed screw and broke off the brake line...

I ended up ordering a new lever, spring, bleed screw, wheel cylinder and brake line... ----.

I started asking about bleeding cause i went out and bought new drumas and thoguht they woudld go right on but they aren't...i'm getting so pissed with this...everything is new now ....ZC EF>>>great diagram LOL

Did you disconnect the ebrake inside the car? Make sure there's a little slack in the line too so it's not comressing your pads.

You might want to make sure the bottom pivot point of the brakes are seated correctly too. They should both look the exactly the same (one side was off on mine).

And again, if you loosen the bleed screw a little, you should be able to squeeze the wheel cylinder at the top pivot points enough to get the drum on. It's hard, but once the pressure is gone (press on the brake to clear it up), they'll go down.

If that ---- don't work, there's something else wrong.
