Question about 92 Prelude
Are these cars worth anything? Can they be modded pretty easily? I found a deal on one locally. It's a red Prelude SI with the AWS system. Looks decent and I can get it dirt cheap but it does have about 200k on it. I'm going to look at it this afternoon, what are some things that I should look for on it? From what I've read it has the H23A engine, is this correct? I haven't had a chance to look on the inside or underneath the hood yet because it was locked last night when I found it. I'm going this afternoon to check over it and drive it.

Re:Question about 92 Prelude
yes a 92 prelude si has an h23a1. well it has alot of miles on it witch kinda sucks, but they do hold there value pretty well(thats if the exterior and interior are in good shape)
you can always swap an h22 in there, its cake.

Re:Question about 92 Prelude
no its a good engine, its gonna be as reliable as any other honda as long as its takin care of. regular oil changes, tune-ups and what not. it makes 160 hp, and the torque is right around 155. the car moves ok

Re:Question about 92 Prelude
They are kind of heavy. It is almost impossible to run charge piping and a front mount on if you are thinking of going turbo. It can be done but not as easily as other cars.If its not an SI its carborated, just stay away. I have had a couple of these and they are great. I didnt care for the AWS, it was like the rear was always coming around in a hard turn.

Re:Question about 92 Prelude
I like my lude, the 92 model was the only 4th gen that came with 4ws. I rode in an 88-91 Si model that had 4ws and it wasn't that bad. I would keep the h23 if I was but since it has over 200k on it you might want to look into swapping for a h22.

Re:Question about 92 Prelude
92's are a tad more work to install an H22 b/c the vtec model didnt come out until 93 in the states therefore there's no VTEC wiring, so you have to run some vtec wires yourself.
H23's are great engines, especially for boost. I had a 92 with a boosted F22a1 (S model), then later swapped in an H23a1.
All 92+ 'ludes are MPFI, no carbs.

Re:Question about 92 Prelude
I have a 95 Si, VTEC's werent avaliable until 94+ and there were some interior differences previous to 95..
I am almost done with my turbo setup for my h23.. not gonna use an intercooler, just water injection b/c of issues mentioned.. i could easily do it i would just rather not butcher up my front bumper..
