I want NASCAR to go back to being production based.. Hence "STOCK" Car racing. ------- bastards ruined it. Can't buy a single part on any of the Nextel cars from the dealer, not a single goddamn thing.

It costs $7-9K out the door for a used Winston Cup engine that's seen one race. It's recommended you purchase the five stage oil pump for it as they really do need it, add ~$1200.

One of the regional hillclimb/auto-x cars is a Cobra replica with a Cup engine, uhm it's ------- nasty and finishes at or toward the top of the pack.

formula palmer audi was the first series to use the push to pass IIRC. they've been using it for over a decade, and they still use it. they get an extra 60BHP (300hp bumped up to 360hp for up to 8 seconds).

i remember when the cosworth champcar guys were trying to regain some of the power they lost at altitude up in denver. the turbos were already running at almost their operating limit, and the engineers were trying to run normal and p2p power numbers similar to what they'd get at sea level. they turned the boost up to regain the power, but when the driver tried to use the extra boost from P2P, the turbocharger literally exploded, blowing the back of the car apart.

I like to see some footage of that could be entertaining.

the pass button also removes the rev limiter while being held down in case the driver is looking for that little extra. Its there for them to use, but not safe to be turning more RPM than they already are the whole race.
