it's a boost scramble button. it allows you to bump the psi at the push of a button.

 

Maybe in CART but not in A1GP or F1.

The only series with it right now is CART, which are turbo'd. There are discussions of bringing it to F1.

 

F1 uses the power boost button using the energy recovered in the brake system and using upto 80bhp (up to 6.6sec) to boost the out put of the engine using an electric motor (i.e. like a hybrid sorta). duh, it's the NAAWWZ button, dog.

 

champ car had it last year, but no champ cars any more IRL bought champ car. Basically they only got it for 60 seconds a race and it changed the boost in the turbos to a higher psi.
