I understand that they would sell out on christmas, but they are sold out right now still. The guy said they get like 20 units or less a week and they sell out the first day.

They should have released the psp on christmas

I feel PS2's success also had to do a lot with advertising. How many months before the ps2 launch date did you see commercials for the PS2? A good 6 months.

I seriously think that on Sony's part, because of the overwhelming success and money that people made off their system from selling on eBay they decided to keep the PSP somewhat on the down low. I still haven;t seen a tv commercial for it and I have only seen one poster on the side of the bus advertising it.

I also do not play my PS2, I bought it brand new two years ago and my little brother calls it his own. Practically is, he uses it more than I do. I may have played it only a couple hours before I practically gave it to him.

the time will come for the PSP, but I have theories on it's semi-success compared to the success of the PS2, but I won't go into that. :P

The PSP launch here in the states wasn't nearly as big as it was in Japan. Some places that ordered 80 units for the launch ended up having 70 or so left. They are still available in a lot of places, I don't see the price going up for it ever.

Got mine the first day it came out! I bought mine the smart way, had it preordered. I payed $20 down and every now and then made $15-30 payments till it came out. By the time is was relesed(last thursday) I only owed $14 so I also had money to buy a game. Wipeout Pure is ------- BOSS. I recomend if you like the racing genre, nice soundtrack too! ;) The ------- graphics on this thing are sick. W/ the USB conection, I wouldnt be surprised if some one incorpirated this in the auto tuning market, Like TurboXs did w/ the game boy advance. Nology also did sumtin w/ the Palm pilot. Either way Im happy w/ my purchase. Git one if you can but be prepared to spend sum dough.

Re: PSP?

i'm gonna wait and see what kind of support it gets. if they come out with a lot of games and movies on umd it would be worth it. if they could get gt4 on it i'd pick one up!
