Project: Stealthmode *update* Pic

Well, I got the motor all together and ready to swap. It's taken me forever to get this thing together, but I'm really happy with the way it turned out. Here's a sample of what it will be in the future:

http://www.hondaswap.com/gallery/ima...de26ec5c27.jpg

D16y8
Block posts
10 over srp 9.1 pistons
Eagle Rods
Completely machined everything
mild head porting with re-built head
T3 48/60
Custom Coach IC
TurboEdit ;)
Accel wires with full MSD ignition setup
Ls throttle body

I plan on doing 14psi on the street to start. After that we'll do whatever it takes. 8)

Re:Project: Stealthmode *update* Pic

Does anyone else see a red X?? Newbieforces is down, so I went back to the imagestation account. :P What else is there where there isn't a big sign up procedure?

did you have to mod anything to make the wastegate fit?

very very sexy stealth

Re:Project: Stealthmode *update* Pic

Completely machined everything
Completely machined log manifold with high temp flat black paint. Also looks like you wire brushed the living ---- out of your block! ;)

btw, you should of never gave me that .63 exhaust housing, it could of been of use in this project.

Re:Project: Stealthmode *update* Pic

Actually the manifolod, cam gear and valve cover were all powdercoated by jung4g. I didn't have to mod the wastegate to get it to fit. It's close, but not hitting.

Ah, the .63 housing may have been overkill. It spooled pretty nice on your ls/vtec, but I just don't know how well it would have been for the street. Renr has a 48/60 and it seems like what I'm looking for.

Looks nice and clean. One little oil leak in your engine compartment and you're going to be crying. :P

Re:Project: Stealthmode *update* Pic

I bought that manafaloood from some cool guy in AZ a long ass time ago. I think that was the first part I ever bought right after joining hmt.
All of the machine work was done and me and my friend put the bottom end together. The rest of it was assembled by me.
Hotrex, I was trying to stay "stealth" on the whole engine thing until it was in and turbo'd, but I thought you would like to see what a real built motor looked like. :D See what it can come out like when you do things yourself. hahahah 8)

Re:Project: Stealthmode *update* Pic

I like it! but I wouldn't use accel wires on it :(
Myself and 2 of my friends have had problems with accel wires man. they were way out of tolerance when I had them tested, my car wouldn;t even run below 3000 rpm, and above that there was no improvement over stock. I got me some bosch replacements at advanced auto parts, and haven't had any trouble since 8)

MikeJ-2009 05-09-2004 11:21 PM

Re:Project: Stealthmode *update* Pic

Thanks for the comments guys. The accel wires were bought off ebay, but I still have the stock ones. I'll let you know if I have a problem with them.

bah.. you would have loved the .63 housing, reguardless that thing will rip plenty hard in a HF for sure. Looking mighty fresh Stevey.

My ultimate dream is to show up at your door and challenge you Mr. Frank. ;D

It's one of those stories you lay in bed and think about over and over re-creating different scenario's. :D Kinda like when I saved that old lady from the burning house. 8)
No matter how many scenario's I've thought about, I always win, though. ??? :-\

What rpm's are you seeing the boost at?

turbohf 05-10-2004 12:44 AM

Re:Project: Stealthmode *update* Pic

low....like 3K i see boost... i will double check when i see boost and when it reaches full boost... tomarrow is tuning day! got to get ready for the track....

MikeJ-2009 05-10-2004 12:57 AM

Re:Project: Stealthmode *update* Pic

Tuning? I think you should tune it to 14psi with 450's and turbo edit. ;D (No, I don't want to steal your map. :D

turbohf 05-10-2004 01:00 AM

Re:Project: Stealthmode *update* Pic

well i wont be able to give you the map anyway, at least the ignition map, cuz its all fucked up from my distributor mess...also probly wont go over 8psi...no intercooler :-\

MikeJ-2009 05-10-2004 01:06 AM

Re:Project: Stealthmode *update* Pic

Oh well. Can you pm me and tell me a little bit more detail on how that map I sent you ran? You said it was good to 4500 rpm, but what about after that? I'm always over concerned with things I don't really know about. Like ecu ----. Just hoping that map will run ok until I learn more about it.

looks good man, i was actually really surprised at how the .63 exhaust spools, but either way, it will still rip. when do you think you'll have it in and running?
