Overall its in decent shape, its got a little scrape/crease behind the pass. door and 165k, but i got it for 1500 since they thought the clutch was bad (i put in a new slave cylinder and drove it to work lol). I dont care if people say its a girls car, this thing is a blast to drive

Re: project gay pride

ehh i use to call them gay girls cars and ----... then my old roommate bought one and swung by my work one night. didnt get a chance to drive it, but just sitting in it...clutch, brake, gas, shifter, steering wheel, seats...everything just seemed right and comfortable... i would buy one, might buy one... but still think they are kinda gay ;)

nice buy! what are the plans?!?!? HMT Miata or what?

Re: project gay pride

Sweet thats a deal. There badass handling cars thats fr sure a little underpowered. I say throw a confederate flag next to the rainbow to keep people guessing. Self hating maybe?

HMTguy 04-27-2007 11:20 PM

Re: project gay pride

That is definitely a sweet deal.

Miatas are for old bald guys, or anybody who enjoys driving really ;)

Hell yeah man.

I had a white 92!

I don't care what people say, that thing was a blast to drive. Throw some nice shocks and sticky tires on that thing and go chase some cones!

Um.....no?

Miatas are for people who actually want to go fast... not for those that think they want to go fast.

Re: project gay pride

You FAG!!( ;)) I ve been thinking about getting one of those. I would feel weird driving it but they look hot. Rear wheel drive, low curb weight and the engine is just begging to be boosted. Too bad that is the official car of homos everywhere :'(

That's a nice looking one you found there!. If I found one that clean at a good price I wouldnt hesitate buying it :-\

Haha, good deal.....on a gay car! :P

I feel kinda gay driving my girlfreinds Cavalier around, but it's reliable and "kinda" fun to drive since it's got a manual tranny and my Jeep is auto. The A/C kicks major ass in it.

How much do those weigh? How much more do the converts weigh?

a little under 2300 for this year i think...and they are all convertible lol. The hard tops are an add-on thing

Dr.Boost 04-28-2007 03:36 PM

Re: project gay pride

Oh, well that sucks. So they don't really weigh any less than your typical Honduh. Better handling....more potential in the motor? How much can those motors handle, roughly?

So is that rainbow sticker still on there? :P

im still looking into it and im sure jd will chime in...but i think somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 whp isnt unheard of. And as of right now the sticker is still there lol

Re: project gay pride

there are several of those that come to the local autocross'n in Cordele...1 or 2 have the J.R. supercharger kit on them and those cars kick some serious ass...they run like a scalded dog and sound mean as hell too...they do scream fag until u install some of those chrome rollbars/stabilizers behind the seats and throw on a nice set of rims...

Re: project gay pride

They are like an LS, IMO. That's all Ari's reminded me of. Nice simple engine that does well with a little boost laid into an easy to work on RWD car.

You got the best of them by my yardstick - 94-95 NA chassis are OBD1 so you don't have to get reamed on emissions inspections, they get the 1.8 liter, and the rearend is good for almost 500 whp. The 90-91.5 1.6's have a short-nose crank that is prone to stripping keyways, and the rear end is a nancy boy.

The rear ends arent even good enough for a SR20. :'(

local guy put a SR20 in a miata, making somewhere close to 500hp. shattered the rear end ;)

Tom-Guy 04-28-2007 08:47 PM

Re: project gay pride

Yeah, and you didn't read the thread closely:

How the f....? Something ain't right here. That rearend right there has been known to take a hella lot of twist. Even when expected to move a LOT more weight. However, it is also known to blowup, like most any other rearend, with too much shock and funny angles.
Like I said, the 1.8 Miata rear ends are good for up to 500.

Flyin' Miata has a stroker kit to get 1995cc's outta it. Nice looking crank, con rods, pistons. BP's are pretty cool, I guess...

If it's making serious power I'll bet there isn't enough weight to transfer. She doesn't hook, she doesn't scoot.
