I think he wants to record streaming video and audio by just capturing everything. Just a shot in teh dark.

What's a good program to record the computer screen that doesn't hog up all the systems resources and actually records sound?

VLC media player can do it, but it's a bit of a PITA to set it up.
I used to have an application for doing this years ago that actually worked well.
