slapping could be pistons hitting valves = timing off. ;) 180* out maybe?

set it w/ #1 TDC COMPRESSION stroke (rotor in cap will point @ #1 spark plug wire at the top of the Compression stroke)

yeah and there would be a loud ass bang everytime the sparkplug fired. still sounds like the timing belt is off. make sure the cam gears are on right and all that good ----.

well like i said i'll check the timing and clearance again tonight when i get home. I'm pretty sure everything is in spec though. If it's not the timing or the leash what else could it be?

All this drama and I still havent heard anyone say the word BEARINGS yet.

Re: Problems after re-build please help

because the bearing wouldn't have anything to do with the car idling.

Re: Problems after re-build please help

So last night i get home and take the valve cover off. What do i notice as soon as i get the cover off. A rocker arm on the exhaust side on # 2 popped out. Well i guess that was the slapping sound, So i fixxed and re did the valve leash and re did the timing belt. So the car will start but i have to have my foot on the gas ever so lightley. If i let off the gas the car still drops to like 200 rpms and just stummbles there and stays running. Another thing i noticed is that it's pulling like 20hg in vacuum? isn't this really deep? If anyone has any sugestions please let me know what else i should check? Or if anyone can sugest a place in New jersey that builds honda motors let me know. It might be time to take it to a pro.
