Problems after re-build please help
OK i just rebiuld my LS motor, New piston, rings all new seals and gaskets. Well i put the motor in over the weekend and it wouldn't start. I finally got it to start but i have to keep pumping the gas to keep it running. If i let the gas go it stalls and if i hold the gas steady it stalls. I checked the compression and it was 120 psi in all 4. Normal is 180 - 210. but i think this is becasue the rings haven't seated yet. Can anyone give me ideas on what to check. Now i'm not sure but i might have put the head gasket on upside down. Could this cause my proble if it is on upside down? Please give me and ideas you have so i can start checking ASAP

If your compression is even in all cylinders, it's not ring seating. You need to give more information- what size of everything did you use? How was it bored/honed if at all? What specification did you use for valve lash? Did you remember to hook up your MAP sensor? Also- was your compression check done with the throttle wide open? If you put the gasket on upside down it would have blown up by now. It would still have compression, but your cams would have seized if you ran it for over about 45 seconds. And you know your cam timing is right, and it is, so don't worry, but go make sure your cam timing is right! There is a guy at my work who does nothing but install timing belts and chains on engines, roughly 45 a day, and even he ***** it up sometimes.

Check all of the above. I think you might be a tooth off on your timing belt. Have you tried adjusting the big screw on top of the throttle body?
You also should check to see if the IACV ports in throttle body are plugged up. I had both problems when I did my B20 swap. The idle air ports were clogged and the TB screw was out so far the car would idle at 2000 rpms.
It could just be the IACV got whacked when you were installing the motor. It's easy to do.

Well i set the valve leash yesterday .04" on the intake and .07" on the exhaust side. Car idles at like 100 rpms? And i can hear some slapping around. I'm not sure if it's in the head, so i'm going to re-set the leash again today and see what happends. i'm goign to do the t-belt again while i'm at it. I know wthe timing is fine but can never be to sure. i'm so gettting sick of this ---- already. anyone want to buy a ek 4dr with a b18b1 with a turbo kit?
