The thing I like most about poland is over there, polaks stick together, over here they try to ---- each other over, or so it seems.
very true crime is a lot lower. people are very very reglious. and very very nice everywhere you go. no offense to any blacks but there is no black gangbangers thugs , ---- i was there for 2 weeks i didnt even see a black guy. there is no place anywhere you will go where someone will give you lip. lots of people there farm help each other out all the time. Here in America is all about making money rip off and scam our own brother for money. my dad calls it the rat race.

sorry about your loss. Im from Romania and its the same there. But growing up there its still home to me. No matter how big of a shiet hole it is. 
There are still verry nice places to go visit and enjoy. :P

Where in Poland were you at?
As far as being a shithole, depends where you are at.
If you visit Wroclaw or Krakow, and still call it a shithole, you need to see a doctor.
Plus, the ladies in Poland are the best, and the drinking and partying is very inexpensive.
Poland is not the Mexico of Europe, that would be france (europes stinky armpit). Poland is striving for a very open economy while Old Europe is pushing for more socialist measures, and because old europe is much wealthier, this is a hinderance for Polands development.
