I'll help you out witht hat Whitey...haven't enough people told you that the a1 won't bolt in easily and you should just get another motor...have fun making htose custom mounts ;)...maybe if you are close enought I come give you a hand...a location would help PA is fairly big I think its 6 hours from one side to the other and like 4 north south :P

I think it was a 2nd gen one like a d16a8 euro spec zc not that hard of a swap due to the fact the mounts atually line up just have to switch the engine driver bracket and trim the t-belt cover

It's hell enough just trying to stick one of those in an EF or ED chassis, although I have done one with a mega-custom solid tube front mount that bolted to the front crossmember. That's the biggest bitch on that motor...pretty much no driver side mount. I'd help ya out too, but like loserkidwac said...that's way too far for me. If you were up near Scranton area I'd say lets git'er done...but good luck with that buddy :-\

ok well i know the motor isnt the best idea ever but it was cheap as ----......i has high compression pistons in it so i was told........either way it sounded good when it was in the crx...it idle surges though...ill figure that part out when its in the car....this is just gonna be a motor to have for a while not for good.......im just gonna make custom mounts so i dont have to ---- with the niceness of my eg and move the actual mounts on the car.....and then im gonna give it the bottle for a while as soon as i get it........just for shits i guess....heh i also have to use the cable tranny so im gonna have to convert it....i also have to get the pins for the ecu and for my ecu and do the conversion that way...give or take a few wires hah....but yea im gonna need help tuesday and wednesday for sure......i need a welder if anyone has one....i think my friend thats helping me can get one though so im not sure if ill need it yet.....

so basicly i just need to make the mounts...change the wiring over....and the axels of course i dont know which ones to use though...the car hasnt been started for a year and it fired right up so thats good.....

Wow sounds like your "cheap" motor is going to be a lot of work and you are converting things you will eventually convert back...why not get a d15 for dirt cheap since people give them away and use that instead of trying to make that motor work, you should have also figured out what was wrong with the motor before you swap it, what if after all the work it isn't even a good motor :S Sorry to basj on you i usualy am all for the cheap/creative stuff but this is a little to extreme when there are so many other cheaper options

its to late now though i dont have any money...its not gonna be that hard...it cant be......custom motor mounts(friends doing for me since i cant weld) were gonna make a template and then im just gonna let him go at it........in the mean time ill be switching the wire harness wires.....then when im done im gonna start rippin out that cable clutch system and im gonna put it in my car....but somehow im gonna make it so i dont ruin my hydrolic setup thats in it now....

its gonna work out fine....as long as its mounted in there without me having to chop anything up it can always be removed and made stock again...it only has to get about 4 months worth of driving in....then as soon as i get to chassis fab + high performance class im building a b18 as my project which will be going in the car....

i dont see why you guys are being gay about it.....its not that hard the clutch petal from the crx you can cut off of the petal cluster and it fits to the two bolts to the left of the brake petal in the eg and mounts on there nice ...its looks like its suposed to be there......and no changing anything from the eg.......the motor mounts are being made today and bolted in so once again...no changes to the eg.......the wiring is all i need and could you guys please talk a bunch of ---- on me for ruining my eg....and how youll see me in like 2014 well this shits almost done nigs....if someone could just talk ---- and give me some help on the wiring that would be cool cause i cant find a site with pins for ----.....

The pm7 obd0 pinouts are pretty much the same as a pm6...even better yet, why not just use an obd1 LS ecu? Won't have to change your wiring harness that way. Just figure out a way to mount an obd1 dizzy on there and pretty much just plug everything in, swap in your obd1 injectors, and try it. Obviously you're pretty well set on doing this, just make sure your fabbed up mounts are nice and thick or they'll break real fast. Oh, and are you sure your stock hydro trans won't bolt onto this motor? I know for a fact you can bolt a Si trans on these motors, so it's a very good possibility you can use yours.

well well well done wiring today....used my z6 wire harness and pluged that ---- into the a1 and then we just did a backwards obd0 to obd1 conversion......so we went obd1 to obd0 and it fired up right away with no codes...kinda odd no codes with no map sensor

Let's see some pictures of this! I've got a D16A1 I tried to put in my 91 Si, I thought it was a ZC but it seems someone sanded off the D16A1 and put ZC. I didn't know much about ZC's I just got it for a good deal then later one realized what it was. My D16A6 tranny almost bolted right up, had to drill out one of the bolt holes and thread my own and I had to grind a little notch for the transmission because the A6 starter was hitting it and not turning the flywheel. After awhile of pain in the ass issues and getting it bolted in and wiring not working out, I said ---- it and put the A6 motor back in come to find out the head warped and fucked up on me. I get at D16y7 head for it and no ------- timing belt works for that combination so I got fucked over. 3 years later this hatch is still sitting. What a waste of time and money. ;) That's my story and a I am sticking to it.

ok well.....you tell me about the starter and ill tell you all the rest....heh cause i did use the z6 trans and it bolts up fine...you have to use the flywheel clutch and pressure plates for the trans your using though becuase of the spline count being different....one is 20 and the other is 21 or something like that......all just tell you what we did......well we used the z6 wire harness and wired it into the the a1 block obd0 style......so the connectors on the towers match up and so do all the wires obviously.....and then we did the trans....bolts fine but the starter doesnt fit you need to notch the block or something...didnt have time yet to do so...so its not running...... converted the car from hydro trans to cable then back to hydro without any modifications...just bolting and unbolting......for motor mounts we used the 2 transmission mounts...the one on the firewall to trans and the one on the top of the trans and that mounted that fine... the driver side mount still isnt actually mounted...but it will be soon enough....you have to use the injectors from the obd0 car of course...wouldnt be a problem if you already are obd0....we had to wire in the resistor box from the a1 and that was no big deal.....oh yea and this way you dont have to use different axels either cause its the same transmission as b4.......thats about it from what i remember...oh yea and when we wire the ecu we just did a obd0 to obd1 conversion backwards and it worked out fine....we fucked someone up when we installed the motor though so it stopped running heh so we gotta take it back out redo the motor harness and check it over and then throw it back in.....just ran outa time thats all........thanks to chris and jimbob from hmt coming over to help out we busted our asses for a ---- load of days on this thing.....and my friend jason who is not a member of hmt right now, but is going to be shortly hes been dealing with this with me for 11 days also
