ive put together 3 motors with CP's... all 3 were std bore and a quicky jeff frank hone job... all nice and quiet. The 2 loud motors I've built were using Arias and Srp's, straight up sounded like d16 diesals.

I'm a big fan of Endyn Pistons (rollerwaves) which are basically wiesco pistons.

what is so bad about srp's, for the budget build? anyone found any clearance problems with the srp's?

Not to knock you at all jeff. But it was probably because the piston/wall clearance was a little tight. CP's are the loosest of the loosest

what do you mean the engine is loud? I wanna get some srps, and some eagle rods, block filler and boost 20psi :y

Not to knock SRP's, but every where I found them I found that I could pay $30 more and get something like Wiseco's, CP's or something else. If I were going to stay low range I'd just get Suzuki's, not SRP's. The Suzuki's are much cheaper to replace :P

I heard a lot of hype about the CP's, but I've also recently heard a slew of failing CP pistons. However from what I understand all, or most, major piston companies get their raw materials from the same place. Their differences lie in the manufacturing processes.

they are slapping the walls, cause they are loose in the bore.

sounds like a jetta TDI.

i pray i don't have piston slap its sounds horrible and like random said it kills the engine prematurely. i have the wisecos with cp gas nitride rings, pistons skits and tops coated.

well i found on nopionline.com that they were selling them for like $370. also wouldnt you get the pistons and rods that you want first, then go to your machine shop and get it bored to that spec of the piston? it only makes sense to do that.

just go to nopionline.com and look under engine code b18b1.
