Pics of my new Toolbox :)

Well, last week I got my new toolbox, This is actually my 2nd new toolbox this year, I outgrew my last box fairly quickly. It looks the same, yellow/stainless trim. But is taller/deeper and longer.

PIMP. I dig the name plate. 8)

Tool boxes are expensive, but they do give you a hell of a trade in on your old ones.

Re:Pics of my new Toolbox :)

I like craftsmen because I can use my ratchets like hammers without worrying about the consequences. I can only dream of the day when I can justify buying a $6000 tool box. My 2 drawer doesn't hold all my tools, but it holds enough of them for now.

Everybody should have a good set of tools especially if you work on cars. Remember guys he works on cars for a living so $6,000 on a toolbox isn't as much as it may seem.

I think I spent about $1,000 on craftsman tools and a toolbox back when I wanted to be a mechanic. My dad was also a mechanic so I aquired all of his snap on tools and his toolbox as well. I dropped out of auto class after the first quarter though. I remember when the snap on guy came and tried selling tools and toolboxes, now those were expensive. :-X

Very nice Jeff, I love matco as well.

I find it more than funny how some of you guys have no idea how much "good" tools and boxes cost. Craftsman just doesn't cut it in a shop setting to say the least.

I have a matco box as well, I've had it a copule of years now. Its a proformance 56" and I have the top and bottom chest. I only have one pic that I could find. Let me just say the black looks soo sweet, yeah for about 1 day :(

Yours is a lot bigger so it seems...but I bet you didn't get 55% off of yours for being a student either now did you ;) Mine is already full, it certainly doesn't take long to fill these things!

Oh and for all you out there, yes those boxes are Uberexpensive!
I had to take out a damn mortguage on mine.

Yea, thats what they all say. You will have the top box before you know it. I figure I could have paid for a college education for what I have in tools. I could have bought a nice new car for what I have in sockets and rachets.

Nice Ollie! same color and stainless eh? My box sits right next to a decked out 7535, looks just like mine. Snap on came in yesterday with a truck load of boxes, I love just opening the top drawers and sitting in them, The snap on ones bend down like a good 3-4 inchs haha, Neither of my matco boxes would bend at all.

Thanks jeff, but didnt you say that your toolbox was a 85 series?
That box was deeper and taller than my 75 series PLUS,You have the spring loaded casters right?
I couldnt justify 2G's more for that lil extra space,OUCH!
But nice box anyways dude!

HMT-Admin 10-06-2003 10:53 PM

Re:Pics of my new Toolbox :)

Re:Pics of my new Toolbox :)

The coolest shop I have ever been in belonged to the manager of my favorite junkyard. It had a toolbox called the Macsimizer or something. Kinda like if you stacked another half of that yellow box on top of itself. It was all packed with snap on tools that hadn't been opened yet cuz he never works on his cars in the garage. He just uses the other toolbox out in the "real" shop. If he wasn't such a hell of a guy, he would make me sick :)

Re:Pics of my new Toolbox :)

that's better than nothing. i just started my tool collection (use to depend on everyone else because i'm cheap), so what little i do have, is in a paper bag :-[ but i did finally buy a jack and jack stands because i had a little "falling out" with my boy (i use to use all of his stuff), the tools i do have are really nice, and i must say, it is kind of addicting (buying nice tools)

96turboracer 10-08-2003 06:58 PM

Re:Pics of my new Toolbox :)

Yeah one of my mechanics at work just bought a brand new snap on box the size of your old one for 3 grand, and one of the older techs has a snap-on box that's over 8 grand :o

the stuff gets expensive man, to me it's only worth it if you do that kind of thing for a living, then you add the tools too and you're looking at 30-40 grand easy :o :o :o

not my cup of tea, but i know i'll be getting a moderate sized snap-on box sooner or later, just can't justify the price right now.
