whats the DL on MR2's and safety? i had a friend killed in one.. and i've been wondering if they are unsafe ( no engine to absorb impact.. just a firewall) or what.. granted my bud was hit head on... but.. i was just wondering if they have a rep for being unsafe... and sorry... not trying to jack your thread

Re:Pics of my new ride
The thing with MR2's is you have to be aware of how they handle which is totally different from any FrWD car. With the engine being in the midle of the car and rwd you can't let off the gas during a high speed turn unless you're ready to have the ass end slide out on you and to correct it you have to come back on to gas to transfer the weight to rear and plant the rear tires, this is very hard to get use to if you're use to driving frwd cars like I was. You have to stay on the gas in the turn to keep the car planted, this is easier said then done because you naturaly want to hit the brakes to slow down. This is how many MR2's get wrecked, this happened to a local guy here, he rolled his four times but was lucky enough to walk away with a couple brusies.
